Cleaned, lacquered, complete and in good and working order.

Cast Iron Shoe Last CL1
Original, quality mid 19th century three piece cast iron cobblers (shoe mender / maker) last. The circular base is decorated with a petal shaped outer edge and has two countersunk screw holes for mounting to the bench, a square shaped aperture to house the slender last and a separate heel pin. The base is in old green paint and the last and pin are black, all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality, 19th century, carpet stretcher in wrought iron and cast iron, with the original turned fruitwood handle and brass ferrule. The cast iron arm to the base spikes is embossed with US patent details "Pat June 13.1876". Much of the original black paint finish has remained and all is complete and in good order. An early carpet stretcher, the first we have seen of this model.

Original, quality 1920's pressed steel dustpan with much of the original black japanned paint finish and the tubular handle is designed to take a wooden handle if required. The brush, can you believe, has all its bristles intact and has them mounted up and over at the end and the turned wooden shaft and back are again with most of the Japanned finish. This very clean example has a circular clear glass covered dial, calibrated and detailed for the manufacturer "H.E. Messmer Ltd London". The painted finish has been washed and lacquered and the brass bezel polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good ORDE5Rand appears to be in working order.

This unusual example has the original carpenters name "T. Knott" stamped on two sides and to the top for the maker "Gleave, Oldham Street, Manchester, established 1833". Spiers Steel Jack Plane P40
Original, quality late 19th century steel bodied Jack plane with rosewood infill and a cast brass screw down cap. The sides of the steel body are dovetailed to the sole and have a decorative top edge. The rosewood infill consists of a shaped and square grip to the front infill and a closed handle / grip to the rear and the brass bolt down cap to hold the cutting iron is stamped "Spiers Ayr" for the maker Spiers of Ayr in Scotland, a well known tool and plane maker of this quality. The 2.5" steel cutting iron is stamped for its maker "Hearnshaw Bros". The saw grip closed handle has a nice worn area to the top point for comfort, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A superb example in fine condition, not easy to find these today. Sole 13.5" x 2.75". Total 5.5" tall

Original, quality late 19th century superb quality steel smoothing plane with a hickory infill, front grip and closed saw grip handle to the rear. The brass lever cap has a knurled screw and the two piece cutting iron (blade) is impressed "I Sorby Cast Steel Sheffield". One side of the steel body, is stamped for a previous owner 'W.Low' but no makers name can be seen. All is complete and in good and working order. 8.5" long x 5.5" tall x 2.25" wide. Sole 6.75" x 2.25" and iron 2".

These were used by plumbers to dress roofing leadwork and drainpipes etc. Lignum Vitae is heavy and hard and one of the few woods that with not float. This example is the largest we have seen and has a super detailed grain, showing two extreme colour variances. The side is impressed with the trade mark of two columns and "Monument Brand". A very unusual item in great condition. 14.75" x 4" diameter.

Original, quality 1920's / 30's huge wide steel shovel, with a short ash shaft and a steel 'D' handle with an ash grip. This super shovel has very little signs of use if any and was probably used for coke or other light weight goods. The shovel head is stamped "A and E Parkes and Co Ltd Banthdormen Street Birmingham" for the manufacturer and "all steel, wheel brand" and "made in England". Cleaned, waxed and complete and in good and working order. In unbelievable condition.

Original, quality late 19th century brass framed ebony "Ultimatum" brace manufactured by William Marples of Sheffield. They do not come much better than this model or indeed this item. A top craftsman made, working tool. The wood infill is ebony and the frame, chuck and neck of the head are in cast brass. The brass side plates are impressed "William Marples Sole Manufacturers of the Ultimatum framed brace, Sheffield" with The Royal Coat of Arms and "By Her Majesty's Royal Letters Patent" and the trademark "Hibernia" for W. Marples. The top of the ebony head has an inset disc also embossed with the maker's details. All original and complete and in good and working order.

One bracing plate is impressed for the maker "James Howarth Sheffield", the inset plate to the head, "James Howarth Broomspring Works" and the mouth of the chuck is stamped '98' or '89' perhaps for the year? All has been cleaned, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Fully overhauled, and complete and in good and working order. A seriously good example in super condition and the first brace by this maker we have had.

The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost, and the original finish to the wood enhanced. Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, all brass wheelwright's traveller in the original patinated unpolished green colour. These were used to measure around the outside of a wooden cart or coach wheel before making the correct size wrought iron tyre. This super example is calibrated to the outer rim of the wheel and is stamped "S. Evans, Bagshot", this could be the previous owner, the wheelwright using it or the maker of the traveller. Complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century stunning brass wall household thermometer manufactured by William Tonks & Son of Birmingham. This example the first we have seen of this model, has the glass thermometer mounted on a sheet brass background decorated with cast brass detail of acanthus leaves, swags and the head of Medusa to the top. The face is calibrated in Farenheight 30 to 120 degrees showing Freezing, Temperate, Summer Heat and Blood Heat. The reverse has a wall mounting eye and is impressed with the registration number for the year 1894 and impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son'. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. The best you will see for a long time.
