Original, quality pair of Royal Doulton ceramic biscuit barrel manufactured circa 1900 to 1930's with both pieces transfer printed to the underside "Royal Doulton England Copyright" and "made especially for Mc Vitie & Price Edinburgh & London". The coloured decoration to the tub has a Dutch scene in green and yellow and is perfect with not a blemish in sight. This is the first we have seen. The front has an applied decoration of a Viking longship or similar and "Special Highland Whisky". The underside is impressed for the manufacturer "Doulton Lambeth" and the registration number for the year 1884. Perfect and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century buff coloured stoneware, bread proving pan, transfer printed to the front "Improved Bread Pan Doulton & Co Lambeth" and impressed to the side for the manufacturer and '4'. This larger example, Doulton bread pan is in super condition but with two large chips to the underside of the top rim. The circular pierced steel lid is as always, missing but otherwise all is complete. 11.25" tall + 14.5" widest. Top aperture 12" diam + 11" base diam.

Original, quality late 19th century glazed stoneware Doulton jug with a relief portrait of the Jockey Fred Archer to the front. This super jug also has a decorative handle, a pouring lip and is impressed "Reft from our midst, by untimely fate. Pledge me his spirit, before we sup. Pledge me one, who.. through life was straight. Straight as he rode for the plate or cup, Ah! Death's pale horse must have felt elate, as he sped through the shadows with archer up". This special jug was manufactured by Doulton for "John Mortlock & Co, Oxford Street London" in 1886 and is impressed as such to the underside of the foot. All is complete and perfect and of a good colour.

Original, quality Royal Doulton cream coloured beaker transfer printed in sepia to the front with a picture of The Duke of Norfolk within a wreath of oak leaves and acorns over "May 30th, 1929" and to the reverse a picture of "Arundel Castle". This beaker was issued to commemorate the Duke of Norfolk's 21st Birthday. The underside has the logo for "Royal Doulton England". Complete and in good order.

Original, quality, late 19th century, buff coloured and glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a variety of brown and pale green glazed sections. The front is decorated in tube lined detail "William Ewart Gladstone, Effort, Honest, Manful, Humble", "Effort Suceeds By Its Reflective Action Upon Character, Better Than Success". The front also has a cameo of Gladstone in relief. A super jug issued by Doulton in 1881 to 1914. One miniscule chip to the pouring lip and some minor blemishes on the tube line decorations, otherwise complete and in superb order.

Original, quality, Royal Doulton porcelain mug, with a side handle and decoration commemorating the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902. One side has The King and Queen Alexandra in colour beneath the crown, another side has a sepia print of a lion holding a shield detailing the coronation with "Coronation Postponed Until The 9th of August" and the third panel details the coat of arms for 'Stowmarket'. The underside has the lion on a crown logo for 'Royal Doulton'. All is in super condition with no chips or cracks.

Original, quality, buff coloured, glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a coffee brown glazed top and base and a reeded trim. The front is transfer printed in upper cased Art Nouveau type style, around a cameo of Gladstone and the text details: 'England's Great Commoner, William Ewart Gladstone' and 'Effort, Honest Reflective Action, Manful, Humble upon Character, Effort - Suceeds better than by it's Sucess'. Impressed to the underside 'Doulton Lambeth England' and '4200'. A superb commemorative jug, issued in 1898 by Doulton on the death of Gladstone. In perfect condition.

Originally filled with hot water, now ideal as a doorstop filled with sand. The stopper is impressed "Doulton & Co Ltd Lambeth" and the warmer is transfer printed Doultons Improved footwarmer is ribbon swags to both sides and "Lambeth Pottery London". One minuscule chip to the top rim otherwise complete and in good and working order.

The top screw out stopper is impressed for Doulton and does have a minor chip, otherwise all is in super order and complete and in good and working order. Original, quality late 19th century stoneware "Isobath Patent" resevoir inkstand, manufactured by Doulton for The De La Rue Company and Introduced in 1888". This most unusual example has a lift off lid to reveal the floating valve and when a pen is dipped in the hopper to the front, the floating valve will allow an equal amount of ink to feed back into the hopper. Sadly there is a chip under the lid but otherwise all is complete and in good order. It is not marked for Doulton but the lid has several symbols representing the artist or potter.

Doulton Aquarius Tilting Wash Jug J146
Original, quality late 19th century Tilting Toilet Jug on the original cast iron stand. The Toilet Aquarius was an invention by J.J. Royle of Manchester and manufactured by Royal Doulton. This example was manufactured between 1891 and 1902 and was a special commission for Abram French & Co of Boston USA. The cast iron stand has been painted white in the past which could be removed if required and bears the registration date of 1902. The jug has various transfer printed details to the underside and is decorated top side with yellow chrysanthemums and acanthus leaves detail. Both the jug and the cast iron stand are in good order with no chips or cracks etc. and are complete. A fabulous find, the third one I have had in the last 40 years. When on stand total 14.5" tall x 17.5" wide plus 9" front to back at floor.

Doulton 4 Piece Watchman Series Jug and Basin Set JB45
Original, quality, 'Watchman Series' four piece, matching, original Royal Doulton ewer and basin, chamberpot and soap dish, with lid. The undersides are all marked with the printed detail of the Royal Doulton logo with the lion on the crown and with the registration number for the year 1902. The bowl, chamberpot, soap dish and lid are all perfect, but the jug has a large crack which has been repaired with six old brass rivets, a super old repair. This set has a buff coloured background colour with sepia detail and the occasional infill of pale blue. The bowl is decorated inside with a continuous picture of timber framed houses with cobbled street and the outside has ribbon swags detailing "Watchman What Of The Night" three times. The jug, of a serious Art Nouveau shape, has timber framed building and a large picture of the Watchman with his lantern over his shoulder. The chamberpot again has timber framed buildings around the outside, the soap dish has similar to the lid with hanging lantern and calling rattles to the outside of the base, although the drainer from the soap dish is missing. Apart from the repair to the jug, all is complete, in superb order and very desirable.

Original, quality late 19th century glazed stoneware loo pull grip with brass mounts and the original brass chain. This pull was originally used on a high level toilet cistern, but now is also ideal as a bathroom or loo light pull. This super example manufactured by Doulton of Lambeth, has a glossy dark blue and buff colour stoneware grip. The brass chain has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.
