Original, quality late 19th century brass pew rails originally mounted on the end of pews in churches. Umbrellas or walking canes would be left on the rail before one moves down the pew. These are now ideal as guest towel rails. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Each backplate has two countersunk screw holes for mounting and all is complete and in good and working order. These examples were originally fitted to the end of the pews in St Lawrence's Church in Hungerford Berkshire. 2 x 12 1/4" and 2 x 12 1/2".Backplates 2 1/8" x 1".Rail 11.5" x 3.5" front to back.Price is for each.
