Original, quality 1920's white glass advert in the original oak frame promoting "Bass in Bottle". The etched detail to the glass panel is in red and black, the frame is impressed to the top and bottom 'Bass and Co Ltd' although rather faint and the reverse has the remains of an old label still affixed. The reverse also has the original easel type wire stand, for this sign was originally designed to stand on a shelf on the bar backdrop. The wooden backing board is a replacement, but all otherwise is original and in good order. 10.5" x 8.25" x 0.75".

Original, quality late 19th century coppersmith made ale muller of the "Donkey's Ear" design. These mullers were used to warm up ale in the hot coals of the fire. This example has a rolled over seam and top rim, good tinning to the inside and most of all, the maker's name to the shaped side handle "E.J. Walden Banbury". Set of 3 Glazed Doulton Stoneware Barrels B3
Three matching original, quality, mid to late 19th century, two tone saltglazed stoneware sherry/spirit barrels, with applied Coats of Arms to the front. Each barrel has six simulated bands, a hole to the bottom front for a tap and a hole for filling to the top. Impressed "2" to the top surface and "Doulton and Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London" for the manufacturer. All these barrels are identical, with only a variation in the colour of the glaze. Two are perfect and the other has a little crazing to the front and to the applied Coat of Arms, although nothing is missing. A great set of barrels, sold together. Each barrel is 12.5" tall, 10" widest, 8" base diameter and 8.5" top diameter. Price is for the set of three.

The Merritt Brass Bar Corkpuller CS197
Original, quality late 19th century cast brass Pub Counter Corkpuller. This superb example has a wrought iron adjustable clamp for mounting to a bar top, shelf or table. The main body is impressed "The Merritt" to the brass and the clamp and the pull up and down handle has an original turned "ebony" grip, which is standard but special. To operate, the ebony grip needs to start at the top. The first pull down will twist the helix into the cork, retract the handle and the cork will be extracted from the bottle. Follow the same action again and the cork will be ejected. A smooth operation, corks are pulled from the bottle easily without a fuss. The internal mechanism will need an occasional oil using the hole on the upper surface halfway up. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. A beautiful corkpuller in use. Total with handle down 16" x 12" x 3.5". Total with handle up 22.5" x 14" x 3.5".

Rotary Eclipse Bar Corkpuller CS189
Original, quality, cast brass 'Rotary Eclipse' bar corkpuller, circa 1900 / 1920's, undoubtedly the finest of the bar corkpullers ever manufactured. One wind of the handle, clockwise, will turn the screw into the cork and another turn, anti-clockwise, will draw the cork from the bottle with no effort. The circular base has four countersunk screw holes for mounting to the bar and the cranked side handle has a cylindrical ebony grip. The base also has the remains of the manufacturer's plaque detailing "The Patent Eclipse". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. We rarely find these today and this example, fully overhauled, is complete and in good and working order. Base 4.5" diam, total 16" tall x 7.5" wide including handle and 13" front to back.

This example is bright turquoise blue with two 'Prattware'' panels, an inner transfer decoration to the top rim, a side handle and a very clear "Pint" and "VR" with a crown over "33" Customs Stamp. Although complete and generally in good order, this example is heavily crazed to the base inside and out, has an old short hairline crack to the handle and has a firing fault to the base edge. Most unusual to find a measure in Prattware and this is first we have seen. 4.25" tall, 4" diam and 5.25" wide including handle.

Original, quality, very large ale measure jug in white ceramic with transfer decoration of hops and barley to both sides, a pouring lip and a side handle. The underside is transfer printed in black with the 'Crown Pottery' logo, "Patent Government Stamped Measure, Sole Patentee and Maker, John Tams Longton", "Hop and Barley" and with the registration number for the year 1905. I can not find the custom and excise etched mark, but all is complete otherwise and has the stepped rim around the handle. This jug does have an 1.5" hairline crack to one side of the lip, but no damage or chips otherwise. This eight pint jug is a most unusual example, the largest we have seen. 9" tall, base 8.25" diameter, 10.5" wide including handle and spout.

Original, quality 1920's, two pint (quart) mochaware ale measure, with blue, black and sandy coloured bands on white ceramic, with three 'tobacco spit' designs and etched in the glaze "Quart", "GR", "490" over "S". This example has a white loop handle to the side and is absolutely perfect, with just some minor staining and crazing. Complete and in good order. 6.25" tall, 4.25" base diameter and 6.5" wide including handle.

Original, quality 1920's oval plaster framed bevelled wall mirror with a simulated wood grained finish and a beaded edge. This clean example is detailed to the upper section of the mirror glass with the horseshoe 'trade mark' and "Meux's" for Friary Meux Ales. The plaster frame still has faint traces of other transfer details of "Friary Meux's Ales" and all is complete and in good order. Exterior 31.75" x 20.5" x 1.5" front to back. This example for an unusual brand of Whiskey details "Old Priory Scotch Whisky" in gilt letters to the back of the mirror glass. Although all original and complete the mirror surface has many blemishes. The original mahogany backing board has been retained with two mirror plates affixed to the side for wall mounting. Original, quality mid 19th century rectangular shaped flat copper box, perhaps a large tobacco or snuff box. This super example, originally Sheffield plated, has a hinged lid and a rope twist beading all round to the top and bottom of the main box. The top is mounted with a Georgian coin, the underside is impressed silver on copper, and the remains of the Sheffield plate can still be seen to the inside. Original, quality matching pair of late 19th century Scottish costrell shaped whisky flasks in unbelievable condition. Each one is bound in cane and fitted with the original shoulder straps and barrel harness, brass bung cover and brass padlock with key. The brass covers are stamped "H.G.M" for the original owner and the barrels are impressed to one end "1 Quart" and "4 Quarts". All is complete and in good and working order and all are as they came, with one exception, replacement keys were altered to suit, note also the brass padlocks which came with the flasks are a true pair. These flasks were carried by deerstalkers. Barrel large 13" x 9.5" x 6.5". Barrel smaller 8" x 5.5" x 3.5".
