Hailwood & Ackroyd Miners Lamp ML30 Original, quality late 19th century brass and steel miners lamp with a cast brass oil reservior and fittings, a steel upper body with an 'S' hook, a red glass cylinder and a good brass label embossed for the maker "Hailwood & Ackroyd Ltd, Morley, Leeds, England" and "Hailwoods Improved Lamp type 0.1". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is in good order. Apparently, this model of Miners Lamps were later used by the army, as an "Unexploded Bomb Warning". This is when the clear glass inner cylinder was changed to red one. All appears complete but not tested for working.

The circular embossed plaque to the front details "The Protector Lamp & Lighting Comp Ltd Patent Utility Lamp Type A.1 Eccles Manchester". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Price: £230.00 Brass and Steel Miner's Lamp ML28 Original, quality 1920's, brass and steel miners lamp with a cast brass reservoir, a sheet steel cylindrical body above the glass and a brass 'S' hook for hanging. The front brass maker's plate is well worn, but it does just confirm it is a "Protector Lamp" and "Lighting Company of Eccles Manufactured Lamp". This example has an integral flint strike and all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Appears complete and in good order.

This example is not marked for the maker, but looks to be a 'Thomas and Williams of Aberdare'. The steel top sleeve has one small hole and the wick and burner are missing, although the cast brass reservoir is intact and all is complete otherwise. Has been cleaned and lacquered.
Body 9.5" x 3.5" and 13" tall including the top hook.
