Original, quality late 19th century brass framed large pressure gauge in near mint condition. This super example has the original deep circular teak back mount and a very clean dial with needle behind glass. The dial is calibrated up to 300 pounds pressure per square inch and is detailed for the manufacturer "Dewrance & Co London". The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order. Backboard 9" x 2". Front glass and bezel 7" diam. Total length including tap 11" and 4.25" front to back total.

Original, quality 1950's ? benchtop micrometer in a heavy cast iron stand in the original War Dept green. This very clean example has a circular clear glass covered dial, calibrated and detailed for the manufacturer "H.E. Messmer Ltd London". The painted finish has been washed and lacquered and the brass bezel polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good ORDE5Rand appears to be in working order. Original, quality late 19th century "Prattware" decorated ceramic pint ale measure. This example is bright turquoise blue with two 'Prattware'' panels, an inner transfer decoration to the top rim, a side handle and a very clear "Pint" and "VR" with a crown over "33" Customs Stamp. Although complete and generally in good order, this example is heavily crazed to the base inside and out, has an old short hairline crack to the handle and has a firing fault to the base edge. Most unusual to find a measure in Prattware and this is first we have seen. 4.25" tall, 4" diam and 5.25" wide including handle.

Each is marked to the brss collar accordingly "Half Pint" "Pint and Quart" and to the pewter under the rim. "VR" over "349" and beneath a crown for the reign of Queen Victoria. The half pint has an old but good repair around the base and now all is complete and in good order, with the pewter waxed and the brass polished and lacquered although the lacquered may be remover at no extra cos. 8 Pint John Tams Ale Measure M154
Original, quality, very large ale measure jug in white ceramic with transfer decoration of hops and barley to both sides, a pouring lip and a side handle. The underside is transfer printed in black with the 'Crown Pottery' logo, "Patent Government Stamped Measure, Sole Patentee and Maker, John Tams Longton", "Hop and Barley" and with the registration number for the year 1905. I can not find the custom and excise etched mark, but all is complete otherwise and has the stepped rim around the handle. This jug does have an 1.5" hairline crack to one side of the lip, but no damage or chips otherwise. This eight pint jug is a most unusual example, the largest we have seen. 9" tall, base 8.25" diameter, 10.5" wide including handle and spout.

Pair of original quality, 19th century, 'pint' and 'half pint' all wooden, corn chandler's pulse measures. Both of these beech measures are impressed with "VR" beneath a crown, over a shield shaped mark that is to the inside and outside surface and each also has a side handle, as on a mug. Very unusual to find these complete and in such super condition. 'Pint' 5.5" tall x 3.5" diameter and 5" wide including handle, 'half pint' 4.5" tall x 3" diameter and 4" wide including handle. Another similar 'Gill' measure may be available ref M55.

Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's 12" brass ruler calibrated in inches. This unusual example has two raised edges to prevent the ink blotching the paper or hands when using a pen and has the details "By Royal Letters Patent, Humphries Patent Office & School" ruler with scales. The inch scales are punched but the maker's details and many other details for postal rates, postal orders and money orders are embossed and very worn and faint. Nevertheless all is complete and in good and working order and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 12.25" x 1.75" x 0.25".

Original, quality late 19th century 24" folding ruler / measure in ivorine with nickel mounts. Each hinged joint has a mixture of steel bars and nickel bars and the steel ones have left some staining to the ivorine, otherwise all is in super condition. All the locating and locking pins are present and there are no twists or warping to the arms. One arm is detailed for the maker "W.Preston London". The calibration is basically in inches with many scales within that. Complete and in good and working order. Folded up 6.5" x 1.1/8" x 0.25". Opened fully 24" x 0.5" x 1/8".
