Pair of Ships Brass Saline Measures M298 Original, quality late 19th century pair of tapered, vase shaped measures with side handles with wooden grips. These examples have a definite "Art Nouveau" style with the tapered sides, wide bases and heart shaped backplates to the handle mounts. These were used to measure the Saline contact in steamship boilers. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. These were originally used with a floating hydrometer but the jugs are complete and in super condition otherwise.

Pair of Carved Cameo Shell Electric Side Lamps SL432 A super pair of 1920's cameo Sea Shells both with similar but different finely carved panels and trimmed and converted to a pair of lamp shades with a pair of hand cast three legged brass supports. These are probably East African in origin but the fittings and three core flex etc are all replacements and all comply with legal and safey requirements. One carved panel depicts a pair of white horses drawing a chariot over the waves and the other three dancing maidens. Has been rewired with modern three-core silk-covered flex, new brass UK bulb holders, an in-line switch and a three-pin plug. We have fitted SBC bulb holders with 15-watt clear cooker bulbs. A very unusual pair of electric side lamps, fully overhauled with the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Brass Galleried Ceramic Tray T181 Original, quality 1920's rectangular shaped ceramic tea tray with a pierced brass gallery with finger grip cutouts on each end. The white ceramic base is decorated in blue floral garlands and the reverse is impressed "10, 8, 22 & 44". Two very minor dents to the piercing of the gallery, otherwise all is complete and in good and working order with no other blemishes. Large Brass Box Iron L282 Original, quality late 19th century "donkeys' ear" shaped, larger than average cast brass box iron with a lift-up gate to the rear and a super wooden 'D' shaped handle over the top. Carburine Motor Spirit 2 Gallon Can PC15 Original, quality two gallon petrol can with the original brass screw on cap. This example is impressed to the back and front "Carburine Motor Spirit" and to the top "Not Returnable", "Glico Petroleum Spirit". The brass cap is impressed "Carburine" and although this can has two or three pin holes to the side. All is complete and in good order otherwise. These cans were often fitted to the running boards of the earlier motor vehicles and were generally in use from 1910 to say 1940's. We have cleaned the can and lacquered it, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. This is the first we have seen complete and in reasonable condition.

Wrought Iron & Brass Dinner Gong G174 Original, quality late 19th century blacksmith made wrought iron stand with curled decoration within the wrought iron and to the feet and top carrying handle and has four turned brass finials within the frame and a large circular brass gong suspended to the open centre. The gong has a hammered finish, a good loud sound and good resonance. The beater hangs to the rear of the gong on a wrought iron shaped hook. Palmerlite Electric Side Lamp SL429 Original, quality mid to late 19th century white glass stem and brass mounted, Palmer Candle lamp, converted to electricity. This superb fitting has a cast brass base in the form of acanthus leaves and flowers and very similar brass mounts to the top. The ribbed white glass stem is tapered towards the top and all is aesthetically very balanced in design, even though we have coverted it to electricity. Huge Servants Intercom Bell IB336 Original, quality late 19th century servants' larger than normal intercom bell with brass mounts, steel springs and a central brass boss. Can be pulled from either left or right. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Often now referred to as 'Downton Abbey' bells. This super example has a replacement brass central boss fitted copied from an original although all otherwise is original. Brass Firemans Helmet Firemans FF100 Original, quality, late 19th century superb, all brass fireman's helmet. Part of the original leather skullcap and leather to the chin strap, have both been made to suit copied from originals. The small brass buckle is also a replacement, but all the other brass fittings, including the chinstrap chain, are originals. This model was introduced in 1866, with the formation of the "Metropolitan Fire Brigade", which replaced the "London Fire Engine Establishment" maintained by insurance companies. This style remained in general use throughout the UK until the 1920's and those with the crossed axes badge were used by provincial, volunteers and Industrial Fire Brigades. All is in super condition and complete with no metal fatigue. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. These helmets are not easy to find today in such good condition. The stand is for display only.

Copper Fire Extinguisher FE37 Original, quality 1920's / 30's all copper cylindrical fire extinguisher with embossed brass labels to the front and cast brass fittings, the top cap, the hose mount and a handle to the reverse. The labels detail, top "John Kew & Co 8 South Parade, Manchester England", middle "The Underwriters Fire Extinguisher, to play turn bottom up, to stop turn back" and bottom "Charging Directions" in detail. 3 Matching Avery Ceramic Weights W382 Original, quality part set of late 19th century W&T Avery ceramic grocers' / butchers' counter weights. These weights were only in use for a very short period and were made illegal in 1903 or thereabouts. These examples are transfer decorated in green with "Imperial" and "4lb" or "2lb" or "1lb" to the top and "W&T Avery Ltd Birmingham" in ribbon swags to the front. These are in super condition with just minor blemishes. The original lead infills used to counterbalance the true weights are still present. These were made by Wedgwood although not marked as such.

Speaking Tube Fittings IT3 Original, quality 19th century fittings for an intercom system often referred to as 'speaking tubes'. These were mainly used in ships but were also used in chauffeur driven cars and the larger households of several floors who maintained staff. This example has a brass mount to connect two extensions and one has the original whistle and mouthpiece turned in rosewood which will unscrew from the brass mount both the brass chain and the forked tube are in the unpolished finish but can be polished to shiny brass on request for no extra cost. All is in good and working order but only a part of the system. The whistle is very loud.

Shand & Mason Brass Fire Appliance FF99 Original, quality late 19th century heavy cast brass water pump with the original short leather hose pipe and the original ebony 'T' bar handle to the top. The original copper makers plate mounted to the main barrel is detailed "Shand Mason & Co, Fire Engine Makers, Upper Ground Street, Blackfriars Road London". This was used to stand in any water available, streams or ponds, to draw off water to the pump onto a burning fire. This one will probably work today I haven't tried it but it is complete. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is the first we have seen of this model.

5 Piece Steel Carving Set C105 Original, quality late 19th century five piece carving set in the original fully fitted oak box with blue velvet to the interior on the base and blue silk to the lid interior detailed by the manufacturer "Mappin & Webb Cutlers Sheffield London". This superb set has stag antler grips mounted with hallmarked silver ferrules and ends. The larger knife and fork are for larger joints of meat and the smaller ones are for poultry. The sharpening steel is marked Mappin & Webb and both the forks have good sprung safety guards used when carving. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. 1897 Queen Victorias Diamond Jubilee Plate CC276 Original, quality circular ceramic plate, highly decorated with scenes of sporting events and pasttimes, all in orange transfer printing with all scenes surrounding a central cameo of the bust of Queen Victoria and other information detailed in panels to include "Ascended the Throne 1837", "Proclaimed Empress 1876", "Birth of Princess Victoria May 24th 1819", "Married to Prince Albert Feb 10th 1840", "Albert Edward Prince of Wales Born Nov 21st, 1841". Servants Intercom Bell IB335 Original, quality late 19th century servants intercom bell with brass mounts, steel springs and a central brass boss. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Can be pulled from either left or right.
