Robert Wells Servants Intercom Bell IB341 Original, quality 18th or early 19th century servants intercom bell with brass mounts steel springs and a central brass boss. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system and can be pulled from either left or right. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. Often now referred to as 'Downton Abbey' bells. The brass wall mounting backplate and the brass central boss are replacements made to suit and the interior of the bell is embossed "R.W" for the bell founder of Aldbourne in Wiltshire and the shoulder is impressed '6' for the size. The ironwork has been repainted, and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A great tone and resonates well and is complete and in good and working order. Other similar bells may be available on request.

Cowhorn Inkstand IW118 Original, quality late 19th century "Standish", inkstand with a pair of nickel mounted cow horns supporting a pair of nickel mounted glass inkwells all displayed on a thick oak plinth with a carry handle to the centre. The hinged lids to the inkwells and the end caps to the horns have matching engraved details and each horn has a side mount for a feather quill dipping pen. This super example has a carpet inlay to the shoe shape controlling the jaws, a brass trim around the foot shape and sprung fitted cast iron jaws to grip the shoe to be removed. Brass Wall Light WL232 Original, quality circa 1900, brass gas wall light converted to electric. Has been rewired with modern three core silk covered flex and a new brass UK bulb holder. The gas tap, as seen, is now fixed to permit the electric conversion and although originally mounted as a downlighter, it can now be used both up or down. This example with a swivel arm has a decorative Art Nouveau style decoration to the stem and backplate. Tally Iron with Poker L287 Original, quality mid to late 19th century cast iron goffering or tally iron on an 'S' shaped stem, a circular cast iron plinth and the original cast iron poker with a wrought iron stem and turned wooden grip. The poker is an original one with a replacement wooden handle made to suit copied from a very wormy original one. This poker is cast with "9 or 6" for the size although this tally iron would have had a larger sized poker originally. These were used to iron collars and cuffs and even earlier to iron large ruffs worn around the neck. Very unusual to find these irons with original pokers, the poker was heated in the fire and inserted in the barrel when required for use. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good order.

Wm Bullock No 10 Tally Iron with Poker L286 Original, quality mid to late 19th century cast iron goffering or tally iron on an 'S' shaped stem, a circular cast iron plinth and an original cast iron poker with a wrought iron stem and turned wooden grip. Cow Horns Table Dinner Gong G176 Original, quality late 19th century Dinner Gong with a circular brass gong suspended between a pair of polished cow horns mounted on ebonised plinths on an oval shaped honey coloured oak base. The horns have nickel mounts and an old beater is fitted to the front of the gong, as is a nickel plaque for presentation etc. All is complete and in good and working order with a super tone and resonance. The original gong is marked "Burmese" but all is of English manufacturer otherwise. Brass Electric Side Lamp SL433 Original, quality 1920's brass electric side lamp with three shaped legs and a tapered central stem. Has been rewired with modern three-core silk-covered flex, a new brass UK bulb holder, an in-line switch and a three-pin plug. This style of lamp is often referred to as a "Pullman" lamp suggesting these were screwed to the table in the restaurant car of a railway carriage or the same on a passenger ship. These were not used as suggested but were catalogued for a guest room side lamp or wall light using the hole in the foot on a hook on the wall. This example has in fact got three holes, one per foot, for two extra holes seemed to have been drilled out later. All has been fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The shade is for display only but this one can be included if required for no extra cost.

H.M.S Tiger Brass Inkstand IW117 Original, quality 1930's inkstand in the original "bronzed" brass finish in the form of a gun turret with twin guns on a turn table base. The hinged lid to half of the top reveals two nickel plated inkwells and the underside of the lid is embossed "cast from metal ex - H.M.S. Tiger", "dismantled 1932" and for the maker "Thomas W. Robert Wells Four Bell Wall Chimes B333 Original, quality early 19th century wall mounted door chimes with four bells mounted in a "Road Hauliers Belfry" and incorporated in a a superb blacksmith made wrought iron frame with decorative wrought iron mounts. WT&S Wall Mounted Dinner Gong G175 Original, quality late 19th century wall mounted dinner gong manufactured by W. Tonks & Son of Birmingham. This serious gong in the original finish has a pale oak backboard simulating the castellated top of a building with a bronze / brass "Mythical Beast" mounted to the centre to support the circular brass gong with the original beater in a matching colour finish mounted below. We believe this design was heavily influenced by the stone water overflow gargoyle / spouts taking the roof water out and away from the outer walls of "The Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. These gongs may even have been made by this Birmingham Maker to celebrate or commemorate an event relating to The Notre Dame Cathedral. All is original with just the cord and the head of the beater being replaced and all is complete and in good and working order with a super loud tone and resonance.

Brass Door Latch DL122 Original, quality late 19th century all brass recessed and surface flush, door latch in thick gauge brass. Brass Door Latch DL123 Original, quality late 19th century all brass recessed and surface flush, door latch in thick gauge brass. Will take a standard modern square bar for the handles and a has replacement keep made to suit. This latch has the provision for a handle turn and a security slide on the inside of the room, which overrides the handles and can be used on both left and right handed doors. This example has four countersunk screw holes to the latch and two to the keep. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Cast Iron Door Pull DP626 Original, quality late 19th century cast iron door pull knob. This example has an embossed detail on both the knob and the backplate in the aesthetic movement style.
