Copper Ships Water Carrier J230 Original, quality circa 1900, all copper tapered, circular ships water jug with a swing over handle to the top, a handle to the rear, a good pouring lip and a small central filling hole to the top. The bottom rim has a thick band to prevent denting the base on board the ship. These were usually dated for use during the First World War 1914 to 1918 but this has been scratched out otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. Some old repairs to the base, minor dents to the top and all has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Large Salt Glazed Harvest Jug J155 Original, quality early 19th century large salt glazed harvest jug in two toned glazed colouring of dark chocolate to the upper and coffee colour below. This jug has a variety of embossed detail including a band on the shoulders of grapes on the vine with the leaves, a fox hunting scene with hounds and, unusually, with riders not on their horses but standing beside them, helping the hounds over the fence and gate. This fine example and great looker, has an old restoration to the back of the top rim and a faint hairline crack to the underside, otherwise a wonderful looking salt glazed harvest jug of good proportions.

Benson Insulated Jug J148 Original, quality insulated copper jug designed by W.A.S. Benson circa 1900, in the original nickel plated finish and of an unusual shape. The insulated interior has a nickel liner the conical lid has a shaped grip and hinge and the shaped body has a side strap handle and a good sized pouring lip. The grip to the lid is stamped "W.A.S. Benson's patent" and the strap handle is stamped "Bensons Patent". The front of this jug is also engraved "Presented to Mr & Mrs E.W. Stevens by Friends at South Norwood, October 1912". The nickel plating to the exterior is very bright and clean with some minor bleeding of the copper base to the edges. All is complete and in superb condition.

Doulton Aquarius Tilting Wash Jug J146 Original, quality late 19th century Tilting Toilet Jug on the original cast iron stand. The Toilet Aquarius was an invention by J.J. Royle of Manchester and manufactured by Royal Doulton. This example was manufactured between 1891 and 1902 and was a special commission for Abram French & Co of Boston USA. The cast iron stand has been painted white in the past which could be removed if required and bears the registration date of 1902. The jug has various transfer printed details to the underside and is decorated top side with yellow chrysanthemums and acanthus leaves detail. Both the jug and the cast iron stand are in good order with no chips or cracks etc. and are complete. A fabulous find, the third one I have had in the last 40 years.

The upper half is a pale coffee colour and the lower buff coloured. One chip to the rim, a short hairline crack to the lip and some minor firing blemishes to the surface otherwise in superb condition and very usable. Unusual not to find a maker's stamp.

Doulton 4 Piece Watchman Series Jug and Basin Set JB45 Original, quality, 'Watchman Series' four piece, matching, original Royal Doulton ewer and basin, chamberpot and soap dish, with lid. The undersides are all marked with the printed detail of the Royal Doulton logo with the lion on the crown and with the registration number for the year 1902. The bowl, chamberpot, soap dish and lid are all perfect, but the jug has a large crack which has been repaired with six old brass rivets, a super old repair. This set has a buff coloured background colour with sepia detail and the occasional infill of pale blue. The bowl is decorated inside with a continuous picture of timber framed houses with cobbled street and the outside has ribbon swags detailing "Watchman What Of The Night" three times. The jug, of a serious Art Nouveau shape, has timber framed building and a large picture of the Watchman with his lantern over his shoulder. The chamberpot again has timber framed buildings around the outside, the soap dish has similar to the lid with hanging lantern and calling rattles to the outside of the base, although the drainer from the soap dish is missing. Apart from the repair to the jug, all is complete, in superb order and very desirable.

Sill Brothers Pint Ale Measure Jug M296 Original, quality late 19th century, off white pint ale measure jug with a pouring lip and a side handle. This unusual but damaged example is marked to the underside for "Sill Brothers Bidford, Copyright 7922" for the maker and acid etched to the front for "Pint, VR" beneath a crown and "476". The sides are decorated in black on white, one "The Old Falcon Inn Bidford where Shakespear Stayed" and the "Piping Pebworth, dancing Marston Haunted Hillsboro, Hungary Grafton, Dodging Exhall, Papist Wixford Beggarly Broom & Drunken Bidford Shakespear". A very clean and unusual example with an old firing crack to the base otherwise complete and in good order.

J. Tams Pint Ale Measure Jug M294 Original, quality late 19th century off white ceramic ale measure jug with a pouring lip and side handle. This clean example is transfer printed to the front for "Crown Pottery" and "Patent Goverment Stamped Measure, Sole Patentee & Maker, John Tams Longton Staffs Earthenware Manufacturer". The side is etched "VR over 32 & Pint" and all is complete and in good order.

Pint Ale Measure Jug M293 Original, quality late 19th century blue decorated on white ceramic ale measure jug with a pouring lip, a waisted body and a side handle. A good clean unusual measure jug for its shape and pattern but most of all, the tin band on the handle, you would normally be thinking this was a very clever repair, but no, this band carries the customs and excise mark detailing "VR" with a Crown, "1 Pint" & "366". All is complete and in good order.

Half Gallon Ceramic Ale Measure Jug M288 Original, quality late 19th century half gallon ( 4 pints ) ale measure jug with a bellied form, side handle and a good pouring lip. This most unusual ale measure is in a pale blue willow-type pattern with pagodas, trees and a bridge over water. The top rim lip and handle are also decorated to match. The shoulder to one side has the acid etched stamp for the customs and excise and "Half Gallon" and "VR" for the Reign of Queen Victoria. Complete and in good order.
