Original, quality 1920's, cycle stand. This superb example has a detailed cast iron base in the form of a styalised creature with a lion's head, four clawed feet and is embossed "The Willbro Norwich". These were used to display cycles in shops or exhibitions and would hold the cycle off the floor with the hub resting on the support, the front wheel between the prongs and the main frame clamped in the mount. All has been cleaned and repainted black and is complete and in good and working order. 21" tall x 8.5" wide at base and 15" front to back.

Opening Ceremony Scissors CC136
Pair of original, quality, silver handled scissors used for an opening ceremony in Kingston-Upon- Hull in 1935, in the original shaped and fitted box. The case has a hinged lid, cream silk lining to the lid, black velvet to the base, gold tooled leather cloth to the outer and a gilded commemoration plaque to the top of the hinged lid. The plaque is engraved "Presented to Ald. A. Stark, J.P. and Lord Mayor of Kingston-Upon-Hull on the occasion of the opening by him of Hull's Super Service Station for Automobile Purchases (Hull) Ltd, 10th July 1935". The silver handled scissors are hallmarked for "Birmingham 1934" and engraved with the initials "A" and "S". All is in super condition, the scissors having little use only and the box is in near mint as you can get. What a most unusual opening ceremony. Box 9.25" x 4.25" and 0.75" front to back, scissors 7.5" x 2.25".

Original, quality chrome plated "Spirit of Ecstasy" Rolls Royce Car Mascot mounted on a turned and ebonised wooden trophy plinth. This super example is signed to the base "Charles Sykes" for the designer and "Rolls Royce" and stamped under one wing "Trade Mark RE01". This model was originally the size fitted to 1911 to 1914 Silver Ghosts and is the largest of the Rolls Royce Mascots. All is complete and in good order. Plinth 5.5" diam and 2.75" tall. Original, quality late 19th century oil fired vehicle side lamp for a fire engine. This super example, manufactured by 'Shand and Mason', is totally complete and in good and working order. All has been fully overhauled, the metalwork painted gloss red and the brass mounts polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The brass label to the top details "Shand Mason and Co Fire Engine makers Upper Ground St Blackfriars Road London" , the two bevelled glass panels are intact and the burner has a locking spring, brass mounts and a slide off reflector. A really good example and complete. 9.75" tall with handle down, 5.5" wide and 5" front to back.

Original, quality nickel key to fit the 'AA' Telephone boxes and given to members only from 1919/ 1920. The AA boxes first appeared in 1911 but members only received keys from 1919. The keys used in 1920 were so dated and continued to be issued in this shape until 1921. This clean example has the fretted double "A" and "Property of the automobile association", "1920", to one side and "Shermays Ltd, Cheapside London EC2" to the other and "H and T.V." for the maker of the key, H and T Vaughan of Willdenhall. This example is the first we have seen of this model. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. 2.75" x 1.25".

This may never have been used, although there is one minor chips near the centre left screw hole which could well be a manufacturer's blemish. The reverse of this sign needs seeing to believe the condition. A very desirable small motoring advertising sign. Complete and in good order. 24.5" x 4".

This tin details "The Bryterlite Brand Superior Quality Carbide of Calcium". 1lb size prepared by "The Humber Oil Company Ltd" and "Specially Prepared For All Types of Motor and Cycle Acetylene Lamps". Lots of other details and some rubbing overall but no dents or rust and no contents. 6.75" tall x 2.25" diameter.

Original, quality 1920's nickel plated double ended whistle with the original nickel chain with buttonhole hook. This hard to find example incorporates two whistles, each of a different principle and sound, one with a pea and the other without and is detailed "The Metropolitan Patent", "J. Morris & Sons Fire Engineers Manchester". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. The first we have seen. Whistle 4.25" x 5/8" and chain 16".
