They have the look of 1960's about them. The upper board is in mahogany, the other in elm is impressed "JJ" for the maker. The leather work is in a cream color and the nozzle is brass which has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Queen Fire Lighting Fan B75 Original, quality late 19th century cast iron grate mounted clockwork fan for lighting the fire in the fireplace or kitchen range. This super example has the original brass case and huge winding wingnut and the cover is engraved with flowers and leaves. The cast iron frame is embossed "Queen Fire Lighting Fan" and "Patent No 14985". All has been fully overhauled, the iron work cleaned and lacquered and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. To operate 1. The wadding in the groove needs to be soaked in Methylated spirit and lit when required for use. 2. The fan is mounted against and hooked onto the bars of the fire or the grille. 3. The wingnut wound up. 4. The brake lever on top of the brass cover to be released. 5. The air from the fan will blow the flames into the fireplace probably up to 6" or 8" deep. 6. The narrow brass slide-in cover will act as a snuffer to put out the flame.

Large Brass Fireside Shovel F389 Original, quality, early to mid 19th century, larger than average brass fireside shovel. This heavy example has a plain tubular handgrip, with a spherical finial and a rectangular shaped spade end in heavy grade sheet brass, with a decorative pierced centre panel. Mirror and Brass Fire Screen F287 Original, quality late 19th century brass framed firescreen with a mirror panel with a painted floral design of poppies. The brass feet extend to the back and front. The top has a carrying handle with an ebony grip, the reverse of the mirror is covered in a thick sheet of lead and the brass has an Art Nouveau style. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra. Two small surface chips to the glass just below the handle, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Copper Newlyn Fender F284 Original, quality 1920's copper fender with Arts & Crafts designs in a hammered finish to include overlapped corners and ends, a rolled over top trim and a sheet steel floor. Arts & Crafts Copper & Wrought Iron Fire Screen F281 Original, quality late 19th century wrought iron and copper firescreen in the Arts and Crafts manner with the decorative blacksmith made wrought iron frame with a hand hold to the top and two pairs of feet. The rectangular hand embossed copper panel has the detail of a Viking ship with the sails billowing and oars to the side. The ironwork has been cleaned and lacquered and the copper polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order.

Toleware Decorated Fire Screen F273 Original, quality mid 19th century very unusual Toleware firescreen. This super example has much of the original gilt decoration on the black japanned finish and even more special is the curved glass panel to the centre with its back decoration of gilt detail and abalone shell fragments. The front has a ribbed brass knob in the original unpolished finish. The reverse has most of its original black japanned finish and its wrought iron mounting bracket but sadly the makers' plaque is missing but the evidence of where it was is very obvious. This was most probably manufactured by Pontipool. Complete and in good and working order.

Pierced and Engraved Brass Fender F264 Original, quality late 18th or early 19th century serpentine shaped pierced and engraved brass fender. This very unusual fender, the best of this style we have had to date, has a serious amount of engraved decoration to the pierced and fretted front. Fireside Brass Potstand PS65 Original, quality late 19th century cast brass potstand / trivet. Brass Clockwork Spit Bracket SB35 Original, quality late 19th century cast brass bracket for a clockwork spit ( bottle jack ). This super example has a shaped backplate with four countersunk screw holes for mounting below the mantel shelf. The bracket arm has a ratchet type of fitting for the spit and a dove motif the to top, this arm when projected out was locked into the square hole for safety and the spit and meat would be suspended out and in front of the fire not directly over it and when not in use the arm would be put back against the mantel board and locked in the square hole again for safety. Suitable brass 'bottle jack' spits are often available in this section, if not, do ask. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.
