Veritas Cast Iron Conservatory Stove HS17
Original, quality late 19th century very decorative white enamelled, cast iron conservatory stove with a copper oil font and glass chimney operating just like oil lamps with paraffin. The red glass panels are replacements copied from the original as is the brass finial to the top lid, for the original was missing. The cast iron side handles in are in the original matt gilt finish. The pierced panels have fish decoration and match the side handles and the top cover will lift for use to keep a kettle warm. This example was manufactured by "Veritas" and has the registration number for the year 1893. The white enamel finish is original allbeit with a few minor chips. The copper font, the pair of original brass knobs to the doors and the top brass finial have all been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. A superb example. 33.5" tall, 16" diam of base and body 10" diam.

Original, quality late 19th century superb cast iron conservatory stove complete with the original brass paraffin font and burner with a glass chimney operating just like oil lamps. The red glass panels are replacements copied from the original but all the rest is the original. The top cover will lift off for use to keep a kettle warm and the manufacturer "Rippingilles" is detailed to one panel to the outside and another has the registration number for the year 1892. Original, quality 19th century blacksmith made wrought iron Mancur Scale with a crescent shaped brass dial, calibrated on both sides. These scales were used to weigh wool in sacks, after shearing the sheep. The small hook and suspension ring are used to weigh up to 35lb in 5lb divisions and the larger hook and ring would weigh 20lb to 300lbs in 20lb divisions. Cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good and working order. 11" long x 4" and 0.75" front to back.

Original, quality candlestick telephone with a bakelite mouthpiece and cover to the earpiece. The dial version of this model was introduced in the early 1920's and was phased out in the late 1930's. During the recent restoration and conversion this example has been completely disassembled and cleaned, some parts and the cord have been renewed and full details of the work carried out with a list of all replacement parts fitted is included. This example is stamped to the collar beneath the mouthpiece "Manufactured by the G.E.C. Telephone Works Coventry England". The conversion will now enable this telephone to be used on a standard modern BT Line, all has been fully overhauled and tested and is complete and in good and working order. 13" tall and base 5" diam. Total 6" widest and 6" front to back.

Original, quality late 19th century 24" folding ruler / measure in ivorine with nickel mounts. Each hinged joint has a mixture of steel bars and nickel bars and the steel ones have left some staining to the ivorine, otherwise all is in super condition. All the locating and locking pins are present and there are no twists or warping to the arms. One arm is detailed for the maker "W.Preston London". The calibration is basically in inches with many scales within that. Complete and in good and working order. Folded up 6.5" x 1.1/8" x 0.25". Opened fully 24" x 0.5" x 1/8".

Original, quality serious Art and Crafts copper and brass teapot circa 1880 / 1900, designed and manufactured by WAS Benson. This super example has a "genie lamp" shape with a copper body and cast brass spout, loop handle, circular base and circular lid with a turned horn finial grip. There is no doubt this was manufactured by Benson, although it is not marked as such. Apart from a minor dent to one side on the upper rim, all is complete and in good and working order and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 7" tall, 9" wide including handle and spout + 5" front to back.
