Chromed Electric Hot Plate HS18
Original, quality 1920's chromed electric hotplate for use on the sideboard or dining table. This super clean example has a polished aluminium top surface, black composition bun feet and side handles and chromed side panels. The front has two electric switches and the reverse has a rewired electric kettle type socket plug and a standard three pin flat electric plug. The reverse is stamped "Brit Reg. Design No" for the year 1929 and the underside has the original manufacturer's label detailing "Hotpoint, made in England Cat No 80712, Watts 240, Volts 230 / 250". Has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order. Top plate 20" x 10". Total including handles 23.5" x 10.5" x 4".

Pair of Electric Wall Lights with Vaseline Shades WL189
Original, quality pair of 1920's serious Art Nouveau cast brass electric wall lights in a sinewy plant-like form with decorative backplates of acanthus leaves and a flower head to take the superb pair of vaseline glass shades. These shades have a diagonal twist and frilly flared outer edges and a good vaseline colour throughout. The wall lights are probably continental and have been rewired with modern three core silk covered flex and new brass UK bulb holders. Have been fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The shades look so good with the lights and these are being sold with the shades. A small pair of brass brackets made to suit for wall mounting are included, again polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order with no chips or blemishes. Backplate 11.25" x 3.5", total 12.5" tall, 7" wide and 10" front to back.

Huntley and Palmer Ceramic Biscuit Box BB27
Original, quality white ceramic biscuit box in the form of a chest of drawers manufactured expressly for Huntley and Palmer Biscuits of London Reading in 1905. This example is one of a series of twelve china 'casket' shaped and decorated to simulate a chest of drawers and each lid was decorated with a different nursery rhyme by the artist / illustrator Walter Savage Cooper 1863 / 1943. This example has a picture to the top of the lid entitled "There was a little man and he had a little gun", the underside of the lid has a panel detailing "Huntley & Palmer Biscuit Reading & London" and "Copyright Nursery Rhymes" and the underside of the base has the Royal Doulton Mark and the registration number for the years 1905 / 1906. Some rubbing to the green lines to the top rim of the body section consistent with general use, otherwise in mint condition with no chips or blemishes and complete. Why not collect all twelve for I have only ever seen three different. 5.5" tall x 7.25" x 4.5".

Original, quality circa 1880 / 1900 Art and Crafts design copper and brass inkwell designed by "W.A.S Benson" but not stamped to that effect. The base is in copper with curled over ends and the inkwell and lid are in brass with a ceramic ink pot within. The base of this inkstand is a miniature version of one of the tea trays designed by 'Benson'. A pretty and very usable inkwell by this sought after designer. The 2.25" blades are marked "Wm Marples & Son", the lever cap "Norris 51 London" and the brass turn button adjuster to the top "Norris London" and the patent number for the year 1913. This plane has been well used showing scuffs and knocks to the wooden infill but is still in excellent condition, complete and in good working order. Original, quality late 19th century oak purdonium (coal box) in the aesthetic movement style. This most unusual example in honey coloured oak has inlays of pewter plaques within the stylised arrowroot heads to the sides and back as part of the fretted out design. The pull down front reveals the galvanised liner for the coal and an old replacement brass shovel; the front panel has carved decoration with a brass pull handle and a pair of decorative brass hinges and the back panel to the cabinet has a carved detail also. All has been cleaned and refinished and is complete and in good and working order. 34" tall at back. Main body 13.5" wide + 13.5" front to back. Total 20" widest + 15" front to back.

Original, quality circa 1900, large continental glass gas shade fitted with an old replacement brass shade holder to fit a standard modern UK electric bulb holder. Has been wired with modern three core silk covered electric flex and a new brass bulb holder with a length of new brass chain and a replacement new brass ceiling rose. This super shade in the "maid's bonnet" form has an embossed cushioned design with clear glass to the centre flowing into an opaline band with a cranberry colour to the outer wavy and fluted rim. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. Shade 11" diam + 6.5" tall including holder + 15.5" chain + 2" rose x 2.5" diam.

3 Piece Steel Carving Set CS57
Original, quality 1920's three piece steel meat carving set in the original 'leather paper' covered box. The box has red velvet lining to the base and red silk to the lining of the lid. The knife is etched for the manufacturer "H. Barnascone & Sons Sheffield England" and has the 'Prolific' logo and "Granted by the Cutlers comp", the sharpening steel is impressed "Cast Steel" and the fork has a good sprung guard. All have cow horn grips and hallmarked silver ferrules. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. All is complete and in good and working order. Box 17" x 5" x 2" Price is for the set.
