Leyland Cub Ashtray
Original, quality 1930's ashtray made in cheap ceramic material and issued to celebrate the launching of the "Leyland Cub" vehicles both Bus and Coaches and Trucks in 1930. This example has a black base ashtray with two cigarette rests with a lioness laid out to the back with a lion cub sat up in front. Also, the front of the ashtray is embossed "The Leyland Cub". No chips or cracks but the black coating is rubbed to the high spots. All is complete and in good order otherwise.

Mahogany Dental Cabinet
Original, quality late 19th century multi drawer dental cabinet in a super coloured and grained mahogany. These were carried on home visits or by dental students during training. This example has seven pull out drawers, most fitted to some degree and all with green baize lining. Each drawer has tiny turned wooden knobs and the top tambour slide locks into place when down and this automatically locks all the drawers also and can be opened with the key. The top of this cabinet has a recessed flush mounted lifting handle in the original old lacquer finish and the top deep drawer has a recessed circular brass finger grip handle. The second shallow drawer down from the top has a later brass plate fitted ready for engraving if required. Overall a super very clean dentists cabinet, not a common model with the tambour top, with all the original fittings lock and key and in good and working order.

Reading Corporation Bus Stop Enamel Sign
Original, quality post-war, brown on cream double sided enamel sign detailing "Reading Corporation Transport Bus Stop" and "Fare Stage" to both sides and "Queue this side" to one side and "Queue other side" to the other. This example also has an extra aluminium plaque bolted on displaying the bus numbers painted on to both sides. Complete and in good order.

Bow Fronted Brace of Perch
Original, quality superb pair of good sized mounted perch in the original bow fronted cabinet glazed to the front and two sides. This is a rather late case ( 1957 ) and the back, top and floor are in hardboard, on the good side wood worm do not take to hardboard as they do to plywood. We have removed the glass to wipe down the interior paintwork and glass, to deposit some crystals to treat any intruders past and future, although no signs of mite and we have re-taped the glass all round and repainted the finish. Now a very clean and bright, super looking brace of fish in very good order. The plaque to the front inside details "Perch 2lbs & 1lb 13ozs, caught by D.W. Thrush, Bell Hotel Water, Dowton 11th November 1957". No mention of the Taxidermist.

GR VI Chamberpot
Original, quality 1930's white ceramic chamberpot with gold lining and the monogram for King George VI to the front. This did not mean this was the personal chamberpot belonging to King George VI but it does mean it was produced for use in the Royal Households and Government buildings. This super clean and bright example is detailed to the underside for the manufacturer "Mintons of England". Complete and perfect.

Cast Iron Plaque 1886
Original, quality late 19th century cushioned shaped oval cast iron plaque with details in high relief "1886" and "S.T.L.E. 25" and with two bolt holes for mounting. Probably a marker late from a bridge or similar. This heavy plaque has been cleaned and repainted, black on white and is complete and in good order.

Siddons 1 Pint Cast Iron Saucepan
Original, quality late 19th century one pint size cast iron saucepan with a tubular steel handle and the original lid. This most unusual example was manufactured by J&J Siddons of West Bromwich and is impressed to the underside as such and "No1" and "1pint". Not only is this one special being so small and such in good condition, it also has the patent straining facility with holes to the front of the lid and a lower top rim to the front of the saucepan. All is has been cleaned and waxed and is in superb condition and complete.

Square Carved Breadboard
Original, quality late 19th century square breadboard in sycamore with a circular flat central area and well carved flower and leaves to each corner. A very clean example and unusual to be square and not warped. Complete and in good and working order.

Tobacconist Display Jar
Original, quality late 19th century dark brown glazed tobacconist display jar. Impressed to the front "John Hill Shop fitter, The Cannon, 2 to 7 New Cut London, four doors from Waterloo Road", the reverse is also impressed for the maker "Stiff & Sons Lambeth". The jar would originally have a black japanned circular tin lid, now long gone, otherwise complete and in good order.

Kenrick Cast Iron Stand
Original, quality late 19th century very decorative cast iron smoothing iron stand with a good "Asthetic Movement" design, embossed to the upper surface. This example is reputed to be designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser. The underside is detailed in relief for the manufacturer "A. Kenrick & Sons" of West Bromwich, "No 8" and with the registration number for the year 1884. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's square enamel sign detailing a bright, colourful picture of 'John Ginger' with two tins of Huntley and Palmers biscuits under his arm and surrounded by a circle with "Huntley & Palmers Ginger Nuts". This super pictorial advert does have some damage to the enamel at the edges and one top right corner has lost a little. Nevertheless, a good bright enamel sign.

Cotterills Patent Skeleton Door Latch, 2 available
Original, quality mid to late 19th century blacksmith made surface mounted skeleton door latch with a re-placement keep made to suit, two available handed opposite. These most unusual latches have the provision for a handle turn and a security / privacy catch on the inside of the room which overrides the handles, exposed mechanism and a pressed brass maker's plaque for E.Cotterill's patent. The first we have seen of this Cotterill's patent. Will take a standard modern square bar for the handles. Fully overhauled, cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. Run of 14 Servants Intercom Bells
Original, quality matching run of 14 late 19th century servants brass intercom bells with replacement central brass bosses made to suit copied from an original. Most of the smaller curly springs are also replacements made to suit. Often now referred to as 'Downton Abbey' bells. The steel springs and backplates have been cleaned and repainted black and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system and can be pulled from either left or right. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock and other similar bells may be available on request. Each bell has a different pitch to enable the staff to recognise the sound if not in view of the bells at the time. All have been fully overhauled and are complete and in good and working order. Most difficult to find a long matching run today. Sold as a run of fourteen very similar bells.

Original, quality pre-war cast iron spring balance, model No 11t, to weigh eggs. This example in the original pale green paintwork has a white painted dial calibrated to weigh 8oz in 1 drams and the original brass egg holder to the top. Kenrick Mrs Potts Convex Soled Iron
Original, quality late 19th century, appears unused Kenrick Mrs Potts Convex Soled box iron with the original shaped heating slug. This is the first we have seen of the convex sole variant and I can find little reference to it in old catalogues. The hinged body has a black ceramic knob to the catch and the original shaped ash 'D' shaped handle. The heat shield beneath the ash handle is embossed for A. Kenrick & Sons Ltd West Bromwich, the manufacturer and all is complete and in superb condition and cleaned and lacquered.

Winfield Postal Balance
Original, quality brass postal balance of the candlestick form with a decorative pressed brass circular plinth, a cylindrical body and a small circular sprung plate to the top. The body is embossed for the manufacturer "R.W Winfield Birmingham" and the scale is calibrated to weigh up to 4oz for the years from 1840 to 1870. All is in the original unpolished finish, fully overhauled and complete and in good and working order.

Folding Garden Bench
Original, quality 1930's wooden slatted folding wrought iron garden bench. This useful bench will fold flat as in the picture to ease storage when not in use but is very firm when in use. Original, quality late 19th century cast iron kettle in near mint condition. The interior has the original pale blue enamelled lining with not a chip in sight and the exterior still has the original black finish. Set of 5 Doulton Harvest Jugs
Set of five original quality two tone, glazed harvest jugs in graduated sizes, manufactured by Doulton & Co Lambeth and all impressed to the front 'Mr and Mrs Dunn June 11th 1905'. Each jug is two tone with dark glaze to the upper half and buff coloured to the lower and all are decorated with applied reliefs of gents drinking and smoking and of a horse with a rider and hounds chasing a stag. All are complete and the largest and smallest are perfect but the other three do have some damage which does not detract from their appearance. The largest of the three with some damage has a star crack to the front, hardly visible. The second has a chip and short hairline to the top rim and a horizontal hairline to the front and the third has chips to the rim only. All the decoration and the glaze otherwise is perfect, sharp and bright. The underside is impressed with an oval mark detailing 'Doulton & Co Lambeth'. A super set of jugs, great lookers and really in lovely condition considering.

Circular Enamel Warning Notice
Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's circular red on white enamel sign in very near mint condition. This example apparently was from the rear exterior of a tram and is detailed in upper cased text "Caution to ride or hang to the back of this vehicle is dangerous and strictly forbidden". Also detailed "British Made". The reverse is as clean and as exciting and the front.

Pair of Pierced Brass Fenders

Electric Indicator Board
Original, quality electric indicator board circa 1900, in a teak cabinet with eight windows on a black glazed panel with black and white diagonal striped indicators. The windows are each detailed above "Dining Room", "Drawing Room", "Morning Room", "Bedroom No 1" and "Bedrooms" 2, 3, 4 and 5. The top of the panel is also detailed for the supplier (fitter) "W. Beuttell Landport". This superb example also has a gilded decorative line to the glass around the edge and an integral. Polished and lacquered brass bell, although the lacquer may br removed at no extra cost. All has been fully overhauled and is complete and in good and working order.

The Merritt Brass Bar Corkpuller
Original, quality late 19th century cast brass Pub Counter Corkpuller. This superb example has a wrought iron adjustable clamp for mounting to a bar top, shelf or table. The main body is impressed "The Merritt" to the brass and the clamp and the pull up and down handle has an original turned "ebony" grip, which is standard but special. To operate, the ebony grip needs to start at the top. The first pull down will twist the helix into the cork, retract the handle and the cork will be extracted from the bottle. Follow the same action again and the cork will be ejected. A smooth operation, corks are pulled from the bottle easily without a fuss. The internal mechanism will need an occasional oil using the hole on the upper surface halfway up. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. A beautiful corkpuller in use.

Recessed Brass Door Bolt
Original, quality, late 19th century, heavy quality cast brass recessed door bolt with a replacement keep made to suit. This superb example, suitable for interior and exterior doors, has a sliding recessed tab to push the steel rod into the keep and has six countersunk screw holes for mounting and the keep plate has two. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

Flow Blue and White Ceramic Platter
Original, quality mid to late 19th century large oval ceramic meat platter in a "flow blue" colour on white. This super example has a design of cameos around the wide rim, each alternating one bird panel and one floral and the centre has a picture of a large "Highland Cattle Bull". The detail is a little blurred due to the "flow blue" effect, but all is perfect with no chips, cracks or blemishes otherwise. The underside has a manufacturers logo, also difficult to read (see picture). Complete and in good order.

Brass Crib Board
Original, quality late 19th century casket shaped brass cribbage board with a drawer to the front with a groove for the pegs and a space for a set of playing cards. This super example has a shaped crib board mounted to the top with inlaid copper sections for the peg holes, waisted sides to the body and all mounted on four bun feet. All is complete and in good and working order, has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is supplied with a set of four pegs turned to suit in brass.

Large Sunlight Soap Enamel Sign
Original, quality large enamel sign code dated for 1910 advertising "Sunlight Soap", "£1000 Guarantee of Purity" with a multi-coloured larger package of Sunlight Soap. An exceptional sign in exceptional condition with a very bright colour overall. Some chipping mainly to the outer edge and two pellet dents on the soap carton, otherwise complete and in good order.

Pair of Cased Kingfishers
Original, quality 1920's pair of adult Kingfishers mounted by "J. King of Warminster" with good groundwork in a glazed fronted wooden cabinet. The interior walls are painted a creamy white. The birds, in particular, are in superb condition, good and bright with no fading and no signs of mite. The case exterior has been repainted black and all is complete and in good order.

The Ambulance Enamel Sign
Original, quality pre-war white enamel sign detailing in black text instructions concerning the use of an ambulance entitled "How to use the Ambulance". Some chipping to the edges of the enamel plus three small areas touched in with paint a long time ago, otherwise a very bright and unusual sign.

Copper Cookpot
Original, quality, 18th or early 19th century, circular, copper, bellied shaped cookpot, with a blacksmith made wrought iron swing handle and a copper lid with a strap handle. This good heavy example has dovetailed seams to the side and underside of the pan and a most unusual seam around the lid. Some very minor dents and pitting, both consistent with age, otherwise in truely amazing condition. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Large Cast Iron Door Knocker
Original, quality mid 19th century very detailed and large cast iron door knocker with a replacement knocking stud made to suit and replacement threaded bolts and nuts fitted. This superb example has two entwining stylised fish either side of a bearded head and another pair of mythical beasts devouring the tails of the fish. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1842 and also 'No 1692' and '22' both in script for the model numbers. This example is detailed in the Kenrick Catalogue of 1876 but it has the code number 299. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. A most unusual cast iron door knocker, the first we have seen and a huge one at that.

5 Piece Carving Set
Original, quality late 19th century five piece steel meat carving set in the original fitted pale walnut case. The box interior is lined in red velvet to the base and red silk to the lid. The set comprises a joint carving knife and fork, a poultry carving knife and fork and a sharpening steel. The knives have "Scimitar" shaped blades, both etched "L&S Sheffield Best Cast Steel", the sharpening steel is impressed "Cast Steel" and the forks have good spring guards. A very clean set showing very little, if any, signs of use, complete and in good and working order. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. The exterior of the top of the box has an inset brass plate for engraving and some scratches and scuffs.
