Swan Ceramic Cheese Dish and Cover
Original, quality 1920's two piece ceramic cheese dish in the form of a swan although finished in cream and pale coffee colour it is otherwise very realistic in proportions. No damage or repairs, a makers mark to the underside ( not clear ) and surprisingly no cheese fat stains to the base. A most unusual example, the first we have seen.

Please Bolt The Door Enamel Sign
Original, quality 1920's small but bright square enamel plaque detailing "Please Bolt The Door" in white upper cased text on a Royal Blue background. This unusual example has four corner countersunk screw holes for mounting. Some minor rusty chips to the edges otherwise complete and in good order and very, very bright. The reverse is also well worth seeing.

Silver Plated Hot Plate with Cover
Original, quality late 19th century silver plated food warmer with the dome shaped food cover. This super oval shaped food warmer has a handle at both ends, four bun feet, a filler cap that unscrews and a veined top to catch the fat and juices. The silver plating to the upper surface is well worn consistent with use, but the rest is in great condition. The lift off dome cover looks as good as new. The base would be filled with hot water and the main meat course would be carved from here at the table or to one side. This is the first we have had complete with the base. All is complete and in good and working order.

Burmantofts Jardiniere
Original, quality superb Burmantofts high glazed ceramic jardiniere circa 1900. This example with Sunflower panels on a cream background with coffee brown two tone surrounds is absolutely perfect with not a fault or blemish in sight. The interior is glazed in bright Sunflower yellow colour and the underside is impressed "Burmantoft Faience, England, 1947 B" and "JL" and underglaze written "? No. 60. over 3". A super example and a good size.

Reconstituted Stone Garden Urn on Pedestal
Original, quality pre-war reconstituted stone garden urn on the original square plinth, all with a good colour of lichen and mosses. The urn sits on the plinth and has a steel bolt projecting through the base into the plinth but is not fixed. Old cracks in both the urn and base but all seem to be holding. To be transported in two sections. 1. The urn with stem. 2. The square plinth.

Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Tin
Original, quality, rectangular shaped biscuit tin with Dutch scenes to the lid and four sides in shades of blue. This tin was produced for Huntley & Palmers in 1897 and is referred to as the 'Delft' pattern. The underside is impressed "Huntley & Palmers Biscuit Manufacturer Reading & London". A very clean example of an uncommon tin with just a few minor rubs and scuffs. Complete and in good and order.

Griffons Cast Iron Bootscraper
Original, quality late 19th century cast iron bootscraper in the form of a pair of Griffon figures joined at the wing tips to support the scraper blade. This pair of Mythical figures are mounted on an oval shaped pan with two drain or fixing holes and all is in the old black paint. Complete and in good and working order.

Rabone Ruler and Spirit Level
Original, quality 12" boxwood rule fitted with two brass mounted spirit levels and protective brass corner plates to each end. Both the bubbles are in clear glass and the rule is detailed to both sides and calibrated in inches and parts thereof. One side is detailed for the maker "J. Rabone & Sons Makers Birmingham" and "Patent No 22017", "Warranted Correct", "Best Boxwood" and "1919" for the year. This fine example comes with the original thick leather case which is a little damaged but otherwise all is complete and in good and working order. A super example.

Organ Stops Coat Rack
Original, quality late 19th century Organ Stops converted to hat and coat pegs mounted on a panel of mahogany cut to suit. Two countersunk brass screw holes have been fitted for wall mounting. The organ stops detail "Swell Sub to great", "Swell Octave to great", "Swell to great", "Swell Sub Octave" and "Swell Octave". Complete and in good and working order.

WT&S Brass Magazine Rack
Original, quality 1920's brass magazine rack with a honey coloured oak base mounted on four brass bun feet. This super example has three panels of tubular brass dividers with the outer two curving outwards. The plinth is impressed to the underside with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son of Birmingham'. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Doulton Oil Side Lamp
Original, quality late 19th century superb oil side lamp with a lift out matching font, the original twin wick "Hinks No 2" brass burner with wicks and gallery and an old glass chimney. The main body and font are mounted in brass and have a very detailed blue and green typically Doulton finish. Impressed to the underside is "Doulton" and "1882". All the brass mounts are original and have been left in the unpolished finish but can be polished back to a shiny brass on request at no further charge. All is complete, perfect and in good and working order. The shade is not included in the price and is no longer available.

Electric Desk Lamp
Original, quality 1920's brass electric reading / desk lamp with a brass 'trough' shade on a square stem mounted onto a heavy circular brass base. This lamp has an adjustable joint at the base with two side knobs to tighten or lock and the lamp would move up or down, the shade itself also pivots on the stem. The adjustable joint is stamped "British Patent No 342708". The circular plinth has a cast iron weight to the underside to counterbalance the adjustment and a green felt cover for the protection of furniture. The interior of the shade has been repainted white, the brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all has been fully overhauled and rewired with modern three-core silk-covered flex, a new brass UK bulb holder, in-line switch and a three-pin plug. All is complete and in good and working order.

Elm Wheelbarrow
Original, quality pre-war oak and elm low wheelbarrow in the original pale washed paint colour. This good example has the original all-wood wheel with a steel tyre and lift outside panels. A good sturdy barrow with a good look. Signs of old worm holes so worth treating now and then but no sign of not. The upper section of one side panel is missing otherwise all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality late 19th century larger than average, tall cylindrical shaped terracotta rhubarb forcer with a rolled over inverted top rim. This super example is missing the cover / lid, has considerable damage to the base but otherwise, all is complete and in good and working order and a most unusual example.

3 Piece Brass Fire Irons Set
Original, quality late 19th century set of three matching brass fire irons comprising shovel, tongs and poker. The square stems have finials and chisel decoration, the grips have turned finials and the shovel has an unusual "fish scale" detail and the registration mark for the year 1889. All these pieces are heavy and chunky, have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and are complete and in good and working order.

Copper Clad Bevelled Wall Mirror
Original, quality late 19th century elliptical shaped bevelled wall mirror with an embossed copper clad wooden frame with brass decoration and forty-four miniature concave mirror stud details in an oval shape towards the edge. A most unusual mirror, complete and in good order with the copper and brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Cast Iron Crocodile Chemists Cork Squeezer
Original, quality late 19th century cork press as used by the chemist shops and dispensaries to compress small corks before dropping them into medicine bottle necks. This example will take four different sized corks and is in the form of an unrealistic crocodile with its tail in the air as the handle. Each foot has a countersunk screw hole for fixing to the table or shelf. One chip to the base of the tail otherwise all is complete and in good and working order and has been cleaned and lacquered.

Large Brass Rim Lock
Original, quality early 19th century, all brass larger than average surface mounted door lock with a replacement keep made to suit and the original key. This superb example has a sliding brass knob operated from the inside of the room only and a key lock operated from both inside and outside of the room. The handle slide and key operate the same tongue, the key overrides the handle action and the privacy / security slide on the rear end will override all the other action from inside the room. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality 1920's rectangular shaped horizontal enamel advertising sign detailing "Spratt's Parrot Food" in shadowed white text on a red background. Also detailed for to the lower edge "Spratts Patent Ltd London" and "454 / 609". Some minor chips and enamel loss to the top left corner, otherwise a clean bright sign, complete and in good order.

Original, quality 1930's very near mint condition, square enamel advertising sign, detailing 'The Hop Leaf' in red on a white circular inset on a bright red background and with 'Simonds' in upper cased text in yellow. This very very clean enamel has just two holes for mounting and one or two very minor chips to the edges. All is complete and in good order.

Singer Bantam Car Mascot
Original, quality chromed car mascot in the form of a standing Bantam with outspread wings. These were issued on the 1930's model Singer Bantam, family motor car and mounted on the bonnet. This example has pilting to the chromed surface, has the original mounting bolt and is marked "Registered in Great Britain", and with the registration number for the year 1935. Complete and in good order.

Original, quality late 19th century white ceramic chamberpot with two handles, a sepia illustration of Windsor Castle to both front and back, a black transfer text to the top rim detailing "Hand it over to me my dear" and "For a Kiss, I'll give you this". Also, the inside floor has a double-faced illustration of a maid and the devil with horns. A most unusual example complete and in good order.

Huge Brass Door Pull Bar
Original, quality 1920's brass huge door pull bar probably from a shop door. This super example has a tubular bar with cast brass cranked supports and finials all mounted on a rectangular shaped sheet brass backplate with sixteen countersunk screw holes for mounting. A wonderful door pull, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

Swaine and Adeney Leather Cased Flask and Sandwich Box
Original, quality 1920's leather case with saddle fitting straps. This example contains a clear glass flask with a locking cap and a pewter sandwich box with a double hinged lid. The sandwich box is stamped for the manufacturer "Swaine & Adeney London" and "Made in England". All is complete and in good and working order, although both items show signs of wear.

Original, quality late 19th century pair of matching brass "cased" butchers / grocers counter weights 7lbs and 4lbs. These most unusual examples are cast iron weights with a thick skin of brass. The grips are impressed "Patent Cased" and "R.W.W & Co" for the makers and the bodies are impressed with variety of 'VR' marks for the Reign of Queen Victoria. Poilshed and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good order.

Original, quality late 19th century wirework tall Nursery Fireguard with a brass top trim and a pullout tubular brass nappy or towel rail. This model is difficult to find these days and this example is in super condition. Complete and in good and working order.

The reverse is detailed "H.G.D.D." and all is complete and in good order.

Original, quality pair of 18th or early 19th century brass candlesticks with shaped square base with canted corners. The top sconces have been trimmed and have good repairs to the stems. These are now in good order with a super colour to the underside and very usable.

Set of 12 Brown Westhead Moore Tiles
Original, quality set of 12 matching late 19th century very clean white ceramic tiles with a feathery or fern fronds design in a plum colour. The reverse of the tiles are printed in the same plum colour 'T505', and most are faintly embossed "Brown Westhead Moore". Two tiles have a very, very minor chip to the corner, otherwise, all are perfect.

Large Painted Bevelled Overmantel Mirror
Original, quality late 19th century large pine framed bevelled overmantel mirror with the original panelled backing boards. This super example has been repainted in a cream colour and two old brass mirror mounting plates have been fitted. Some old parts missing from the original top decoration and some old scuffs under the paint of the framework but generally a good very usable, very clean mirror. Very unusual to have a bevelled edge on such a large mirror of this shape and age.

Pewter Fish Ice Mould
Original, quality late 19th century two piece pewter ice mould in the realistic form of a freshwater fish. This very unusual example, the first we have seen, is in superb condition with a good colour to the exterior and with an impressed registration lozenge mark to the inside of each half, for the year 1876. The two halves are hinged and locked with a removable pin and all is complete and in good order.

Original, quality 18th or early 19th century superb wirework bedroom fender. This example has a very detailed fine wirework panel all around with an unusual design, a sheet iron floor and a top brass trim. 1911 Coronation Enamelled Beaker
Original, quality near mint condition enamelled beaker detailed in multi colour with picture of King George and Queen Mary and The Royal Coat of Arms, issued for the king's coronation in 1911. The detail is all bright and clear with gilt borders to top and bottom on a pure white case colour. One scratch to the inside and one small chip to the rim otherwise complete and in good order. The first we have seen of this model.

Near Pair of Exterior Bell Pulls Servants & Vistors
Original, quality late 19th century near pair of cast brass exterior bell pulls one for "Servants" and other "Visitors". For use with a tight wire, non-electrical bell system. Replacement rear springs and washers have been fitted. Other parts required to operate this system are usually available in stock. Many other bell fittings of differing types may also be available. They have been fully overhauled and are complete and in good and working order. The backplates differ a little in size and the pull knobs are different but true pairs are very hard to find.

Silver Plated Tea Urn
Original, quality early 19th century trophy shaped silver plated on copper tea urn / samovar. This smaller than average example is in superb condition with no Wear to the plated finish and complete with the original lid, side handles, four bun feet and tap to the front with a turned bone finial grip. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order.

Emperor Alexander II of Russia 1872 Pair of Photograph Frames
A pair of original, quality 19th century brass photograph frames each with a crown, bearing the monogram of Alexander II of Russia, each dated 1872 and finely engraved and pierced with military trophies and the Imperial Russian Eagle. The reverse has a slide out brass back plate to access the photographs, and a folding easel back stand and the name of the manufacturer/supplier "Ortner and Houle, 3 Saint James Street, London"
Alexander II, Alexander Nikolayevich Romanov, 1818 to 1881 was Emperor of Russia from 1855, he implemented many changes including selling Alaska to the United States in 1869. In 1873 Russia joined Germany and Austria in the League of Three Emperors, giving stability to Europe. The dates on the frames coincide with the first announcement of this treaty in 1872, at a meeting of the three Emperors, so it seems likely they were made to commemorate this. Alexander II was assassinated in 1881.

5 Section Minty Glazed Oak Bookcase
Original, quality 1920's / 30's stacking and lock on five sections part glazed oak bookcase manufactured by "Minty of Oxford Library Specialist". This superb example in a medium oak colour has four sections each with a pair of leaded and glazed doors and the fifth section in the centre with faux doors as a pulldown flap for the bureau ( the first we have seen with a bureau ). All original, complete and in good and working order. Will break down into five sections to ease handling.

Heart Shaped Brass Wall Mirror
Original, quality late 19th century wall-mounted bevelled heart shaped mirror mounted in a decorative brass frame of rings and vine leaves. This example has a large hanging mounting to the top, a replacement ply backboard and some blemishes to the mirror to the top centre and to the lower point, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality circa 1900, brass letter rack for the desk, fashioned as a miniature magazine / newspaper rack with two brass mesh panels with a hooped divider between, acting as a handle. The front has a brass plate detailed "Letters" and all is mounted on a rectangular light oak base. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good order.

Pair of Lucas Carbide Brass Motor Vehicle Lamps
Original, quality pair of superb carbide brass motor car headlamps manufactured by Jos. Lucas Ltd of Birmingham. This 'King of The Road' pair are detailed "No 684" for the model and with the registration number for the year 1907. This pair of lamps are identical in every aspect and are in the exceptional near mint condition with no dents, no metal fatigue and are absolutely complete with the burners, the nipples for the feed pipes, the inner reflectors and the nickel interior bezels etc. One rear foot was missing and we have replaced it with an identical part, otherwise all was complete and original and when we dismantled the interior to clean and take out a few minor dents it was still stuffed full of roadkill flies between the inner panels. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and although not tested these are complete and should be in working order. Truly a super original pair of Motor Vehicle Lights. The best we have seen.
