Original, quality late 19th century "Turbot" shaped Turbot Kettle with a tinned interior and cast pink brass ring handles to each end. The inner lifting tray and lid are both missing so this limits it's use but with such a great shape its an unusual planter or ideal as a base bain-marie pan. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and in good order.

Original, quality six matching oval meat platters manufactured by "Copeland late Spode" in three varying sizes. The reverse is date stamped and coded for the year of registration 1910 and with the pattern as "Chelsea". These examples are rectangular in shape with canted corners and are decorated in pastel colours with a pair of "Tragopan Pheasant" type birds to the centre with a river scene and a castle behind, each platter has a floral border decoration of the same colours. All are perfect, a wonderful find in wonderful condition.

Original, quality larger than average circular copper tray made and signed by Hugh Wallis 1871 - 1943. This well-known coppersmith specialised in trays with engraved decorations inlaid with pewter and always with a rolled-over rope twist edge design and his logo of 'H' over 'W' within a square. As often the case the pewter inlay has worn away over years of use but all otherwise is complete and in good and working order and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality 1940's / 50's huge cast brass door knocker in the realistic form of a lion face gripping the decorative knocking ring in its mouth. A good knocking stud is included and all has been polished and is complete and in good and working order. This size and quality Lion door knockers are hard to find in brass for most found are in cast iron.

Pair of Winfield Arum Lily Curtain Tie Backs Original, quality mid 19th century pair of superb brass and opaline glass curtain tie backs in the form of very detailed Arum Lilies. The fine brass mounts are in the original matt gilt finish, the flower heads are perfect and the gilt collars beneath the flower necks are detailed "R.W Winfield Patent" and with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1845. Both these items have the original wall plates and although one has some good old repairs to some old damage both are in superb condition otherwise. It's some years since I have seen this model tie back. R.W Winfield was a serious manufacturer of the best brass items excelling in the most elaborate brass beds ever produced.

Original, quality 1900 / 1920's advertising mirror in the original frame with applied plaster decoration to the edges. The mirror glass is detailed "Draught Bass" in white text and the red triangular "Trade Mark". The lower frame is also decorated in plaster "Bass & Co Ltd". The mirror is very bright and clean, although there is some flakey paint to the red triangle and the frame is generally missing parts of the applied plaster decoration. It still looks good and complete and in good order otherwise.

Bretby Huntley & Palmers Plate Original, quality late 19th century decorative ceramic plate mounted with four facsimile Huntley & Palmers biscuits. Three of these very lifelike biscuits are impressed for Huntley & Palmers just as the real ones were and the green glazed plate is finished as if a paper doiley was on the plate. The underside is impressed for the makers "Bretby England" and '1146' and with the registration number for the year 1897. There is an old repair to the edge as shown in two of the pictures here, a chip has been glued back in rather clumsily and one chip to one long biscuit, otherwise all is complete and in good order with a super gloss finish back and front.

Original, quality late 19th century steel dinner knives with Antler grips and a steel cap to the end. Each blade is detailed for the manufacturer "Joseph Rogers & Sons Cutlers to her Majesty" and 'VR' with the crown for the reigning Monarch Queen Victoria. Joseph Rogers was one the finest cutlers in Sheffield during the late 19th and early 20th century. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. A very clean set, complete and in good and working order. A set of tea / dessert knives matching this set of dinner knives may well be available ref code: C97.

Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, pressed copper firemark, issued by the County Fire Office. This example, in the old patinated finish, although complete, has a few holes and tears, mainly from the old fixing nails, 'The County Fire Office' was in operation from 1807 to 1906 and Britannia was their main logo. Other examples of the same model may well be available reference code FM14 and FM15.

Original, quality pre - war spherical shaped blue glass fire extinguisher manufactured under the name of 'Firex'. These grenades were originally filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown into a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. These were purchased on Dickinson's Real Deal at Middlesbrough Town Hall on 10th July 2021.

Cammell Laird & Co Ltd Promotional Paper Weight Original, quality 1920's advertising desk or counter paper weight in the form of a standing camel on a rectangular shaped block. This example appears to be in pewter or spelter, later painted in brown paint. Each side of the plinth is mounted with a brass plaque detailing in relief to, one side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Sheffield, Grimesthorpe & Penistone" and the other side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Shipyard Birkenhead". All has been washed and lacquered and is complete and in good order with just some rubbing to the later brown paint. Cammell Laird were huge ship builders having many famous ships to their credit including HMS Ark Royal, The Mauritania, The Robert F.Stockton, HMS Birkhead, CSS Alabama and The Fullages to name but a few.

Irish Oat Cake Toaster Original, quality late 18th or early 19th century blacksmith made wrought iron Irish oat cake toasting rack for use in the front of the "Down Hearth" open fire to toast the dried oak cakes made on griddles. This super example, the first we have found for many years, is a very decorative example and has the shelf to the front with two feet and an easel shaped folding backstand. All has been cleaned and finished in a coat of lacquer to preserve it before use.

Cast Iron Book Press on Stand Original, quality late 19th century cast iron book press with brass mounts, mounted on an original pine bookpress stand of a similar age. The bookpress has been fully overhauled, cleaned and repainted black and the brass polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The two drawer stand has been cleaned and waxed and fitted with a pair of late 19th century pierced cast iron drawer pulls. The press has a brass makers' plate detailing "Manufactured by J & E Ratcliff" and all is complete and in good and working order.

Original, quality circa 1880 / 1900 Art & Crafts design copper and brass inkwell designed by "W.A.S Benson" but not stamped to that effect. The base is in copper with curled over ends and the inkwell and lid are in brass with a ceramic ink pot within. The base of this inkstand is a miniature version of one of the tea trays designed by 'Benson'. A pretty and very usable inkwell by this sought after designer. Original, quality, oak sit-on weighing scale manufactured by W & T Avery, circa 1900. These scales, often referred to as jockey scales, were actually used in doctors surgeries or health and mens clubs or private bathrooms. This superb example has a seat upholstered with red leather, the original brass side arms and a brass mounted, cast iron steelyard sliding scale. The honey coloured oak body has square tapered legs and a drawer to one end for the record book. The seat has been re-upholsted in red leather, very similar to the original, the scale has the original paintwork, transfers and is designed to weigh up to 24 stone. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order.
