Original, quality pre-war all copper coal hod with a tapering body and two grips to the front. The underside is stamped for the manufacturer "Johnson & Baxter ( Plymouth ) Ltd". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Pair of Copper Kettles
Original, quality pair of 1920's circular copper tea kettles with a short spout, a handle over and a separate circular lid. This most unusual pair of kettles are in superb condition with only a few very minor dents. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and are complete and in good order.

Copper Turbot Kettle
Original, quality late 19th century "Turbot" shaped Turbot Kettle with a tinned interior and cast pink brass ring handles to each end. The inner lifting tray and lid are both missing so this limits it's use but with such a great shape its an unusual planter or ideal as a base bain-marie pan. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and in good order.

6 Matching Copeland Meat Platters
Original, quality six matching oval meat platters manufactured by "Copeland late Spode" in three varying sizes. The reverse is date stamped and coded for the year of registration 1910 and with the pattern as "Chelsea". These examples are rectangular in shape with canted corners and are decorated in pastel colours with a pair of "Tragopan Pheasant" type birds to the centre with a river scene and a castle behind, each platter has a floral border decoration of the same colours. All are perfect, a wonderful find in wonderful condition.

17.5" Hugh Wallis Copper Tray
Original, quality larger than average circular copper tray made and signed by Hugh Wallis 1871 - 1943. This well-known coppersmith specialised in trays with engraved decorations inlaid with pewter and always with a rolled-over rope twist edge design and his logo of 'H' over 'W' within a square. As often the case the pewter inlay has worn away over years of use but all otherwise is complete and in good and working order and has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Brass Lion Door Knocker
Original, quality 1940's / 50's huge cast brass door knocker in the realistic form of a lion face gripping the decorative knocking ring in its mouth. A good knocking stud is included and all has been polished and is complete and in good and working order. This size and quality Lion door knockers are hard to find in brass for most found are in cast iron.

Bass Mirror
Original, quality 1900 / 1920's advertising mirror in the original frame with applied plaster decoration to the edges. The mirror glass is detailed "Draught Bass" in white text and the red triangular "Trade Mark". The lower frame is also decorated in plaster "Bass & Co Ltd". The mirror is very bright and clean, although there is some flakey paint to the red triangle and the frame is generally missing parts of the applied plaster decoration. It still looks good and complete and in good order otherwise.

Telephone from Here Enamel Sign with Original Bracket
Original, quality 1920's / 30's wall mounted double sided enamel sign detailing "You May Telephone From Here" in white upper cased text on a Royal Blue Background to each side. This super example is still mounted on the original galvanised wrought iron wall bracket with four screw holes for mounting. Some chipping to the enamel around the bolt holes otherwise complete and in good order with a good bright colour.

Giant Yale Key Shop Sign
Original, quality pre-war cast aluminium giant Yale key, hanging shop sign. This wonderful example is embossed on both sides with "Made in England Yale" to one side and "The Yale & Towne MFG Co" to the other. Replacement galvanised hanging chains are included and all is complete and in good order.

Galleried Oval Oak Tray
Original, quality late 19th century oval shaped honey coloured oak drinks tray with a brass gallery, a handle to each end, four feet to the underside and an oval nickel plaque to the centre engraved "Presented to Lieut. Staffurth by the Non. Com. Officers & Men. I Comp 2nd V.B. R.S. Regt. 21st April 1898". The brass and nickel has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.

Set of 6 Sheffield Steel Dinner Knives
Original, quality late 19th century steel dinner knives with Antler grips and a steel cap to the end. Each blade is detailed for the manufacturer "Joseph Rogers & Sons Cutlers to her Majesty" and 'VR' with the crown for the reigning Monarch Queen Victoria. Joseph Rogers was one the finest cutlers in Sheffield during the late 19th and early 20th century. Remember, these pieces of cutlery are steel, not stainless steel, and will keep a very sharp edge, but they dislike water or moisture; just wipe and dry them thoroughly. A very clean set, complete and in good and working order. A set of tea / dessert knives matching this set of dinner knives may well be available ref code: C97.

S.Maw Tin Footbath
Original, quality late 19th century tinsmith made slipper shaped footbath with a handle to each end, probably the original cream paintwork to the inside and brown out, with the original brass makers plaque detailing "S.Maw Son & Sons. London England" and with their logo to the centre. Some minor dents to one end, otherwise complete and in good and working order.

Brass Armadillo Inkwell
Original, quality late 19th century all cast brass inkstand in the realistic form of an armadillo. This example has a lift up hinged 'shell' to access the pair of original white ceramic ink pots ( one has a small chip ) and is mounted on a stepped rectangular plinth. All has been polished and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order.

Pair of Bronzed Door Pull
Original, quality pair of 1920's cast brass door pull knobs in the original bronzed finish with square backplates, spherical shaped knobs with reeded sides and rosettes to the faces. The threaded bar has a decorative brass cap for the inside of the door. A superb pair of unusual door pulls. Complete and in good and working order.

Shaw Inhaler
Original, quality, most unusual transfer printed ,circular white ceramic inhaler with side handles and a shaped top rim to fit the face. The underside is detailed in green type with a shield motif "Bridgwood England" and with the registration number for the year 1908. The front of the body is detailed in green type with the directions for use, other information and "The Shaw Inhaler".

County Insurance Firemark
Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, pressed copper firemark, issued by the County Fire Office. This example, in the old patinated finish, although complete, has a few holes and tears, mainly from the old fixing nails, 'The County Fire Office' was in operation from 1807 to 1906 and Britannia was their main logo. Other examples of the same model may well be available reference code FM14 and FM15.

Original, quality late 19th century pair of nickel fireman's epaulettes on the original leather backs. Nickel epaulettes were worn by fire officers and in use from 1866 to 1920's. Firex Glass Fire Grenade 3 available
Original, quality pre - war spherical shaped blue glass fire extinguisher manufactured under the name of 'Firex'. These grenades were originally filled with a solution of sodium bicarbonate and the whole grenade was thrown into a small domestic fire to extinguish the flames. This example is empty but has retained the waxed top cap and is complete and in good order otherwise.

Battersby Hats Matchstriker
Original, quality 1920's cast brass matchstriker in the form of a miniature Homburg Gents Hat. The brim is embossed "Battersby Hats" and the top of the crown is creased in with the matchstriker ribbing within the crease, turned over it's an ideal personal ashtray. All in the unpolished finish and complete and in good and working order. The first we have seen.

Pair of Brass Crown and Cut Glass Electric Hall Lamps
Original, quality pair of 1920's electric pendant hall lights with cut glass pointed shades mounted with cast brass shade holders in the realistic form of Regal Crowns. This pair fit standard, modern, UK electric bulb holders. Fully overhauled, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and rewired with modern three core silk covered flex and new brass UK bulb holders. Complete and in good and working order. Replacement brass ceiling roses and lengths of chain are included. A most unusual pair of light fittings.

Large Pair of Staffordshire Dog Mantel Ornaments
Large pair of 19th century ceramic "Staffordshire Dogs" Mantel Ornaments. These larger than normally found ornaments arm modelled after the King Charles Spaniels popular in the early 19th century and are bright and clean but both with one small knock hairline crack, see arrows in pictures, otherwise complete and in good order. These were purchased on Dickinson's Real Deal at Middlesbrough Town Hall on 10th July 2021.

Pair of Gladstone and Disraeli Cast Iron Plaques
A pair of original, quality, late 19th Century, cast iron plaques depicting Gladstone and Disraeli, both Prime Ministers during Queen Victoria's reign. These plaques have been finished in a matt gilt colour and are fitted within wide circular wooden frames. All is complete and in superb order. The first we have seen.

Brass Dog Collar 1845
Original, quality mid 19th century brass dog collar with the original internal leather lining, some old repairs and an engraved curved galvanised plate detailing the previous owner with "Earl of Shrewsbury" in script and "Alton Towers 1845" in shaded upper cased text. All is generally in good order and probably very usable if required. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.

Original, quality late 19th century five branch hat and coat rack with two upper branches for hats and three lower for coats. Quart Mochaware Ale Measure
Original, quality 1920's two pint (quart) mochaware ale measure with blue, black and sandy coloured bands on white ceramic, with four "tobacco spit" designs and acid etched in the glaze "Quart" over a crown 'GR' and '19'. This example has a white loop handle to the side and is absolutely perfect and complete.

Oak Counter Top Posting Box
Original, quality late 19th century honey-coloured oak "Posting Box" as used on "Grand House" hall tables or Hotel Reception counters. This super example has the brass posting slot to the top slope, engraved "Letters" in upper cased text, a bevelled glass and removable oak panel to take the details of "times of collection", a bevelled glass front panel to view the Post to be collected and the original "Bramah of London" lock and key. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order. A great-looking Posting Box, the best we have had for a long time.

Benson Copper Inkstand
Original, quality circa 1880 / 1900 Art & Crafts design copper and brass inkwell designed by "W.A.S Benson" but not stamped to that effect. The base is in copper with curled over ends and the inkwell and lid are in brass with a ceramic ink pot within. The base of this inkstand is a miniature version of one of the tea trays designed by 'Benson'. A pretty and very usable inkwell by this sought after designer. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order.

W&T Avery Personal Scale
Original, quality, oak sit-on weighing scale manufactured by W & T Avery, circa 1900. These scales, often referred to as jockey scales, were actually used in doctors surgeries or health and mens clubs or private bathrooms. This superb example has a seat upholstered with red leather, the original brass side arms and a brass mounted, cast iron steelyard sliding scale. The honey coloured oak body has square tapered legs and a drawer to one end for the record book. The seat has been re-upholsted in red leather, very similar to the original, the scale has the original paintwork, transfers and is designed to weigh up to 24 stone. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. All is complete and in good and working order.
