Man Trap T110
Original quality early 19th century blacksmith made wrought iron man trap, these were originally set in the undergrowth to catch poachers. This serious trap has large toothed jaws, two thick springs and a tread plate. I know this does not bear thinking about, but at least these traps were made illegal to use in 1831, although references do show they were used long after. One spring has been repaired well with two rivets and one tooth is missing but all otherwise, is complete and in good order, and all has been cleaned and lacquered. Complete examples of original man traps are very hard to find today, and this is about the best they come. 73" x 21.5" and 13" tall. Jaws 20.5" x 3.75" and plate 16.75" x 15.5".
