Original, quality 1920's white glass advert in the original oak frame promoting "Bass in Bottle". The etched detail to the glass panel is in red and black, the frame is impressed to the top and bottom 'Bass and Co Ltd' although rather faint and the reverse has the remains of an old label still affixed. The reverse also has the original easel type wire stand, for this sign was originally designed to stand on a shelf on the bar backdrop. The wooden backing board is a replacement, but all otherwise is original and in good order. 10.5" x 8.25" x 0.75".

Original, quality late 19th century copper ale Muller of the shaped referred to as 'Donkey's Ear.' This example is in thick grade copper with a tinned interior a pouring lip and a side strap handle. A good dovetailed seam is visible down the length. These were placed in the hot coals of an open fire for warming ale. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. 13" long, 5" top diam and 8" wide including handle.

Set of 3 Glazed Doulton Stoneware Barrels B3
Three matching original, quality, mid to late 19th century, two tone saltglazed stoneware sherry/spirit barrels, with applied Coats of Arms to the front. Each barrel has six simulated bands, a hole to the bottom front for a tap and a hole for filling to the top. Impressed "2" to the top surface and "Doulton and Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London" for the manufacturer. All these barrels are identical, with only a variation in the colour of the glaze. Two are perfect and the other has a little crazing to the front and to the applied Coat of Arms, although nothing is missing. A great set of barrels, sold together. Each barrel is 12.5" tall, 10" widest, 8" base diameter and 8.5" top diameter. Price is for the set of three.

Original, quality late 19th century cast brass cork puller with a turned wooden handgrip on a steel mount and a 'G' clamp for mounting to a table edge, bar or shelf. This superb example is one of the larger bar cork pullers produced and is detailed 'The Acme'. One action will sink the corkscrew into the cork and the second action will pull out the cork from the bottle and eject it from the corkscrew. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. Body 14" long, handle and mount 12". Height from bar top at rest 15" and 13" front to back. Height from bar top in use 8".

Original, quality late 19th century white ceramic lined oak "Lemonade Jug" with nickel bands, lid, handles and mounts. This superb example, the best we have seen has a hinged top lid with a finial, a handle to the front and back, a shaped pouring spout and a shield shaped plaque for engraving. All is in superb order with the original finish to the honey coloured oak and only minor rubbing to the nickel mounts and no chips stains or cracks to the ceramic liner. 9.5" tall, base 7.5" diam and 10.25" front to back including handles.

The custom and excise stamp is worn badly and the engraved details to the underside are not clear but could be deciphered with some work, these details could be of a previous owner. Some minor dents but otherwise complete and in good order. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 4" tall, base 2.75" diameter, top 2.75" diameter, 4.5" wide including handle.

Original, quality, very large ale measure jug in white ceramic with transfer decoration of hops and barley to both sides, a pouring lip and a side handle. The underside is transfer printed in black with the 'Crown Pottery' logo, "Patent Government Stamped Measure, Sole Patentee and Maker, John Tams Longton", "Hop and Barley" and with the registration number for the year 1905. I can not find the custom and excise etched mark, but all is complete otherwise and has the stepped rim around the handle. This jug does have an 1.5" hairline crack to one side of the lip, but no damage or chips otherwise. This eight pint jug is a most unusual example, the largest we have seen. 9" tall, base 8.25" diameter, 10.5" wide including handle and spout.

Original, quality, 19th century, two gallon copper ale measure, with a hollow loop handle to the rear, a large pouring lip and rim to the top. The circular base has a thick rim and the top lip has a Custom and Excise lead seal detailing "VR" with a crown for the reign of Queen Victoria, "349" and "LCC" for The London County Council. The front of the measure is punch stamped "2 Gallons". A super condition measure with no dents or scratches, polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order. 12.5" tall x 12" wide at base and 14.5" front to back including handle.

These most unusual examples have side loop handles, tapered bodies, pouring lips to the top and the original lead 'weights and measures' impressed seal detailing "E R " over "6" beneath the Kings Crown, for the reign of King Edward VII 1902 to 1911. The larger size has an oval brass plaque to the front detailing 1/2 pint and the smaller one is stamped "Gill". Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. Larger 5" tall, base 3.75" diameter, 5" wide including handle, smaller 4.5" tall, base 3" diameter and 4" wide including handle.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, white ceramic square spirit flasks with side loop handles, narrow necks with pouring grooves and replacement brass mounted cork stoppers made to suit copied from originals. These super flasks are transfer decorated in black to the shoulder and above with flowers and one has a gothic "G" for Gin and the other "I.W." for Irish Whisky. The undersides are both impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1877. No chips or cracks and complete and in good and working order. The first we have seen of this style. Set of four late 19th century square two tone stoneware spirit flasks in the original fitted basket. Each flask has a strap handle with a decorative mount at the end, the original brass mounted cork in the original colour, an impressed lozenge mark for the year 1877 and the name of the original contents "Scotch Whiskey", "Irish Whiskey", "Gin" and "Brandy". The flasks are all perfect and complete but the basket is a little shakey and the worst for wear. Each flask 8" tall including stopper and 3.5" square. Basket 9" square, 5.5" tall plus 3" handle. This example is decorated with a plum pink colour body with white bands and a faux 'Sherry' label to the front, all outlined with gilt lining, etc. The hole to the front was for the tap and the top originally had a circular dust cap to cover the aperture. Some minor crazing, otherwise complete and in good order. 13" tall, 13" wide x 9" front to back.

These dispensers were used on the bar backs in pubs and hotels. Not a common find today and this is a good example. 15" tall with lid, 11" without + 8" widest.

These larger than average decanters are all original to this tantalus and with the exception of some minor chips to the bottom corners on two decanters they are perfect. A super set with just some minor scuff marks to the mahogany base, complete and in good order. Tantalus 17" x 7" + 12.5" tall, each decanter 3.5" square x 9.25" tall.

This hard to find urn has a brass shield to the front detailing 'Bovril', the beef extract drink, two brass taps with turned ebony handles, two small lids to the top and mounted with three replacement brass ball feet. copied from an original. This example is the largest we have seen and although not marked as such was made by "J and H Banfill Copper Smiths and Urn Makers, Gervase St. Old Kent Road S.E." London. These urns were used on the counter or bar in the pub, café or hotel, to heat up water and pour into a mug or cup of Bovril extract and were stood on a stove or over a gas ring beforehand to boil the water. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order. 19"tall, 12" top diam, 13.5" base diam and 15.25" widest including taps.

Original, quality late 19th century all copper hot water urn in the form of a castle tower with simulated brickwork and a castellated top. This hard to find urn has a brass shield to the front detailing 'Bovril', the beef extract drink, a brass tap to the reverse with a turned ebony handle, a lid to the top and mounted with three brass ball feet. A brass maker's plate is fixed to the lower front detailing "J and H Banfill Copper Smiths and Urn Makers, Gervase St. Old Kent Road S.E." London. These urns were used on the counter or bar in the pub, café or hotel, to heat up water and pour into a mug or cup of Bovril extract and were stood on a stove or over a gas ring beforehand to boil the water. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The castellation to the top is replacement, copied from an original and all is now complete and in good and working order. 17.5" tall, 10" top diam, 12.5" base diam and 14.5" widest including tap.
