Cammell Laird and Co Ltd Promotional Paper Weight A93
Original, quality 1920's advertising desk or counter paper weight in the form of a standing camel on a rectangular shaped block. This example appears to be in pewter or spelter, later painted in brown paint. Each side of the plinth is mounted with a brass plaque detailing in relief to, one side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Sheffield, Grimesthorpe & Penistone" and the other side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Shipyard Birkenhead". All has been washed and lacquered and is complete and in good order with just some rubbing to the later brown paint. Cammell Laird were huge ship builders having many famous ships to their credit including HMS Ark Royal, The Mauritania, The Robert F.Stockton, HMS Birkhead, CSS Alabama and The Fullages to name but a few. 4" tall and base 3.75" x 1.75".

Original, quality, late 19th century, wall mounted Aneroid barometer, with a carved oak backmount, a cast brass bezel and a ceramic face. The oak has been refurbished and the brass polished and lacquered. Shows a little crazing here and there and a minor grain split to the oak, otherwise all is in super condition. The face is detailed in black Gothic text all with red capitals. Backboard 9" diameter, total 2.75" front to back, front glass 6" diameter.

Original, quality, late 19th century, aneroid desk barometer, with a frame and stand in brass fashioned as a horse shoe, a hunting horn, a riding crop and a pair of whipple trees. The loop shaped stand is hinged to fold flat for storage. The central barometer has a detailed enamelled dial and "Made in Paris". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. A most unusual desk barometer. Dial 3.5", toal 10" tall x 8.5" wide, 3.5" front to back when up + 2.5" folded down.

Set of 3 Glazed Doulton Stoneware Barrels B3
Three matching original, quality, mid to late 19th century, two tone saltglazed stoneware sherry/spirit barrels, with applied Coats of Arms to the front. Each barrel has six simulated bands, a hole to the bottom front for a tap and a hole for filling to the top. Impressed "2" to the top surface and "Doulton and Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London" for the manufacturer. All these barrels are identical, with only a variation in the colour of the glaze. Two are perfect and the other has a little crazing to the front and to the applied Coat of Arms, although nothing is missing. A great set of barrels, sold together. Each barrel is 12.5" tall, 10" widest, 8" base diameter and 8.5" top diameter. Price is for the set of three.

Original, late 19th century, superb quality, leather case, fully lined and fitted, with a pair of flat sided cut glass beakers and a pair of folding spoons, forks and knives. Each set of cutlery slotted into the leather holder will slip easily into the drinking glass. The buff coloured leather carry case has an adjustable strap to the top and is impressed for the original owner "M. C" and "F. C". The handles on the cutlery are in white bleached and polished bone, the knife blade and corkscrew are steel and the top collars, spoon and fork are in nickel. No maker's name to the leather case or the cutlery, but nevertheless a super set, in super condition, appears unused. 6.25" x 4.75" and 1.75" front to back, cutlery 7.25" open, glass 3" x 1.5" and 4" tall. Price is for the set.

Original, quality white ceramic mug detailed in colour to commemorate the coronation of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. The front has multicoloured cameos of the King and Queen with the Coat of Arms and flags and roses between. The reverse is detailed in sepia "Rulers of an Empire on which the sun never sets, send them Victorious, Happy and Glorious long to Reign over us". The underside has "Harrods Ltd exclusive design Guaranteed all British" and to the inside "Coronation Souvenir 22 June 1911. Not a chip or blemish in sight complete and in good order. 3.5" tall, 3" diam and 4" wide including handle.

Original, quality rectangular shaped clear glass paperweight issued to commemorate King George V visit to Preston on July 8th, 1913. This super example, the first we have seen, has wide bevelled edges to the top and is acid etched to the reverse with the crown over the monogram for King George V and the date July 8th 1913. One very minor chip on one corner and some minor scratches on the back and front, otherwise complete and in good order. 5" x 3" x 1".

Original, quality, buff coloured, glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a coffee brown glazed top and base and a reeded trim. The front is transfer printed in upper cased Art Nouveau type style, around a cameo of Gladstone and the text details: 'England's Great Commoner, William Ewart Gladstone' and 'Effort, Honest Reflective Action, Manful, Humble upon Character, Effort - Suceeds better than by it's Sucess'. Impressed to the underside 'Doulton Lambeth England' and '4200'. A superb commemorative jug, issued in 1898 by Doulton on the death of Gladstone. The reverse of the plaque has a screwhead slot for wall hanging and shows an old repair. The gentleman is unknown to us, we would be pleased to know of him if you do. Has been lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Backplate 11" x 0.5" and total 1" front to back.

Copper Coaching Horn in Basket CH2
Original, quality late 19th century nickel mounted copper "Tandem" coach or hunt horn, with a brass mouth piece and the original 'willow' basket carry case. The horn is in superb condition with no dents, engraved for the maker "Swaine and Co London" and polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The basket with hinged lid is near complete but with some caning loose and some missing, otherwise complete and in good and working order and with a good tone to the horn. Original, quality 1930's child's chamberpot, manufactured by Shelley and in the original card box. This superb example is decorated with designs of children, with toys by ' Mabel Lucie Attwell ' and with a pale blue top rim and side handle. This chamberpot is perfect and very clean and bright and comes with the original decorated cardboard box a little rubbed in places but generally in good order otherwise. A seriously good find and a delightful piece. Pot 3.5" tall, 6.5" top diam and 7.25" including handle and box 7" x 7" x 4" tall.

Original, quality, 19th century, carpet stretcher in wrought iron and cast iron, with the original turned fruitwood handle and brass ferrule. The cast iron arm to the base spikes is embossed with US patent details "Pat June 13.1876". Much of the original black paint finish has remained and all is complete and in good order. Original, quality late 19th century good sized fine glass, flat sided oval shaped dome on the original wooden stand, with four turned bun feet. The remains of an old paper label is still on the glass at the base detailing "Chamberlain Naturalist Wantage". The plinth has been cleaned and repainted black, and all is complete and in good and working order. Total 16.5" tall x 14" x 8". Dome only 15" x 12.75" x 6.5".

This example has two double rows of shaped links with a brass mounted nameplate between and adjustable and lockable joining plates with a old key altered to suit. The wrought iron curved plates are all punch engraved with detail and the inset brass nameplate details a name in script but very faint and "Woodside Nr Leeds". A fabulous dog collar. Complete and in good and working order. Total length 21" x 1.25".

Original, quality, circa 1910/1920's, electric heater/bedwarmer. This heavy circular copper heater has an aperture with two pins to take an electric kettle type adaptor to plug in and heat up. Impressed to the top and underside "Brightglow Electric Heater", "Disconnect Before Placing in Bed, Heat 5 Minutes Only", "Registration Applied For" and "200/250v". The top surface has been polished and lacquered, but the underside still retains the original finish. Sadly the plug and adaptor are long gone. All is in super condition otherwise, but not suitable for use. 9.5" diameter x 2.25" tall.

Original, quality, large, unused Staffordshire pearlware ceramic, garden or greenhouse flowerbed label, with a scallop shell design to the top, a central square panel and a pointed end, with three countersunk screw holes. For pushing into the ground or screwing to a wooden border surround. The reverse has a super clear impressed registration lozenge mark for the year 1878 and the retailer or maker's name "G. A. Stubbs Warwick". All are complete and in superb order, with the odd minor stain, but no chips or cracks and much, much larger than you think. 12.25" x 5.25" + 0.5". Price is for each.

Original, quality 1920's, novelty shaped brass hat pin stand in the form of a mini umbrella stand. This super clean example has four stems above the plinth with a sliding drawer beneath and a brass grill to the top. The padded faded velvet cushion to the base for the points of the hat pins is the original and the brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Probably continental and the first we have seen 5.5" tall x base 5.25" x 2.5".

Original, quality early to mid 19th century pressed brass ewer and basin, with a super shaped ewer with a cast brass handle and good dove tailed jointed seams. The original matching bowl does have solder repairs to some wear and metal fatigue on the base but otherwise in good order. Both the ewer and basin will hold water if required and have been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Most unusual to find an all brass jug and basin and these may well be continental. Basin 15.75" diam and 5" tall. Jug 13" tall, 7" wide and 9" front to back and 5.75" including handle.

The scimitar shaped blade is engraved with various sea fish and creatures and the copper grip is embossed with the most highly detailed assortment of sea creatures in deep relief. The main base could be a ' Coelacanth ', with a lobster and other fish to one side and an octopus and other fish to the other side, I cannot emphasize the detail enough. Original, quality, brass plate, with slots for nine different sized coins patented in 1853. This brass plate was fitted onto the shop counter. Its purpose was to test coins for counterfeits, a coin was placed in the relative slot and if correct in weight and size, it depressed the rocker balance below the slot and fell into the drawer below, faulty coins would not go through the slot or stayed in the slot. The slots on this example, each with its own rocker balance, are marked "Sixpence, Fourpence, Threepence, Half Sovereign. Sovereign, Shilling, Florin, Half Crown and Crown". The brass top plate has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A most unusual coin scale / detector, complete and in good and working order. Brass face 6" x 4" and max 1" tall including mechanism.

Large Silver Witches Ball WB9
Original, quality, late 19th century, silver coloured free blown 'witches ball' with a neck and a sheared top, a later wire loop for hanging has been fitted and the original string net is included. This super example has a few blemishes to the mercury mirror interior, some good glass blowing lines, otherwise complete and in good order. We have not seen these in the nets before. These glass balls are said to have properties to ward off evil and witches, but I believe they were used in the larger houses and shops to throw around the light from the candle and oil lighting. 14" tall including neck but excluding wire, 12" diameter.
