Sill Brothers Pint Ale Measure Jug M295

Original, quality late 19th century, off white pint ale measure jug with a pouring lip and a side handle. This unusual but damaged example is marked to the underside for "Sill Brothers Bidford, Copyright 7922" for the maker and acid etched to the front for "Pint, VR" beneath a crown and "490". The sides are decorated in black on white, one "The Old Falcon Inn Bidford where Shakespear Stayed" and the "Piping Pebworth, dancing Marston Haunted Hillsboro, Hungary Grafton, Dodging Exhall, Papist Wixford Beggarly Broom & Drunken Bidford Shakespear". Discoloured and tired cooking and with a really old crack but otherwise complete and an unusual example.
