Salters No 1 Convex Iron L231

Original, quality late 19th century cast iron polishing iron with a convex sole and used to iron washed and starched items such as Gents collars, cuffs and dickie shirt fronts. This example with a tubular hand grip is embossed to the upper surface on the body "Salter, Sylvester's Patent No 1" for the manufacturer and the size. Cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good and working order.
