Ryhope & Silksworth 1907 Inkstand IW119

Original, quality 'Art Nouveau' cast iron inkstand with the original moulded glass inkwell with a hinged nickel lid. The cast iron base has retained much of the original bronzed finish and is decorated with seed pod designs. The pen tray to the front is detailed "Xmas 1907, Ryhope & Silkworth, Ind & Prov. Society Ltd", and the underside is impressed with the registration number for the year 1907. "Ryhope & Silkworth" are two villages / small towns in Sunderland. All is complete and in good and working order with no chips or blemishes to the ink, and this is the first we have seen.
