J.Tams Quart Ale Measure M213

Original, quality late 19th century off white ceramic ale measure with a side handle, a custom and excise stamp with 'Quart' over a crown and "VR" for the Reign of Queen Victoria and "32". The front is also detailed "Patent Government stamped measure, sole patentee and maker John Tams Longton Staffs, Earthenware Manufacturer". Although this measure is not damaged, it is heavily stained to a pale brown colour but still otherwise complete and in good order.
