Cowhorn Inkstand IW118

Original, quality late 19th century "Standish", inkstand with a pair of nickel mounted cow horns supporting a pair of nickel mounted glass inkwells all displayed on a thick oak plinth with a carry handle to the centre. The hinged lids to the inkwells and the end caps to the horns have matching engraved details and each horn has a side mount for a feather quill dipping pen. The horns and mounts have all been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and the plinth has a fresh green baize fitted and all is complete and in good and working order. A most unusual example.
