Copper Spirit Kettle on Stand K210
Original, quality mid to late 19th century copper kettle on a tripod stand fitted with a burner to the centre to be used with methylated spirits. This example has a woven cane handle, a white ceramic knob to the lid and is impressed to the inside of the lid "Warranted Best London Manufacturer". The kettle is locked onto the stand with two pins. 1. Take out the back pin; this will permit the kettle to be tilted for pouring. 2. Take out the front pin and the back one, and the kettle will lift off for filling. The burner does have a wick, and all is in super condition and complete and in good and working order. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. An unusual model.
13" tall in total. 9" wide, including spout. Kettle body 7" diam.
