2 Gallon Copper Ale Measure M258

Original, quality late 19th century two-gallon all copper ale measure with a pouring lip to a tubular side handle and a cast brass bottling tap to the front. The tap is impressed "Fairburn Bros of Maidstone", the pouring lip and rim are stamped in the lead seal "VR27" with a crown above for the Reign of Queen Victoria and the front of the body is stamped "Two Gallons". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in super condition. A most unusual example with the large foot rim to the base.
