1lb Ceramic Weight W367
£100.00 GBP
Original, quality late 19th century Grocers' or Butchers' shop counter weight in white ceramic in the shape of a "cottage loaf". This example has poor restoration to two areas to the underside of the top section which could be improved considerably. These ceramic weights were only in use for a very short period and were made illegal in 1903 or thereabouts. This 1lb version is transfer printed to the top "Imperial 1lb" and is complete and in good order.
2.25" tall. 3" diam of base.
