Sugar Cleaver SC19

Original, quality late 19th century steel sugar cleaver with a turned and ribbed fruitwood handle, a brass cap to the grip and a brass collar to the neck. This most unusual item has a super shape and a hanging eye to the top corner of the steel blade. These were used in the kitchen to break up sections of the tall cone shaped sugar blocks normally purchased wrapped in blue paper. All is complete and in good and working order.
