Silver Mounted Oak Cabinet 1941 P37

Original, quality silver mounted fully lined honey-coloured oak presentation casket, presented in 1941 to Alderman Afred Southwell J.P. along with The Honorary Freedom of the then borough of Wisbech in recognition of this service to the form as Mayor in 1902, 1935 and 1936. The casket originally contained the scroll of the award. The interior is lined in white silk, the corner post, ball feet, the monogram to the front and the coat of arms to the top are probably silver but the plaque to the reverse for engraving certainly is silver for its Hallmarked as such. A most unusual item of great quality in great condition.
