Original, quality late 19th century silver plated on Britannia Metal patent self pouring teapot "Manufactured by James Dixon & Sons for J.S. Royle of Manchester". The J. Dixon 'Bugle' logo is detailed on the underside as is the patent number for the year 1886. When the teapot is filled and the lid is fitted, just lift the lid with your finger over the hole in the knob, then release the lid, as it falls the liquid will pour out of the spout into a strategically placed cup. This patent teapot was also manufacturered in a variety of materials, copper, brass, ceramic and glass. This example is complete and in superb condition and perfect to use.
