Pair of Ships Brass Saline Measures M298

Original, quality late 19th century pair of tapered, vase shaped measures with side handles with wooden grips. These examples have a definite "Art Nouveau" style with the tapered sides, wide bases and heart shaped backplates to the handle mounts. These were used to measure the Saline content in steamship boilers. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. These were originally used with a floating hydrometer but the jugs are complete and in super condition otherwise.
