Pair of Brass Ship Containers N29

Original, quality pair of late 19th century top quality brass container "Andrew Brown of Glasgow" stamped to the handles "Andrew Brown 1825 - 1957 was managing director of the shipbuilding firm William Simons & Co of Renfrew, the oldest shipbuilder on the Clyde". These super brass containers have large side handles, heavy brackets to slot into wall mounts and screw off top caps mounted with four tubes as pourers or breathers ? I am guessing these are "Saline" testers for ship boilers or possibly safety torches with four wicks for each and fueled by say colza ( vegetable ) oil but I would be pleased for confirmation from anyone. I have found a great deal relating to this Andrew Brown but no reference to these containers. Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all appears complete and most unusual.

12.5" tall. 5.5" widest including handle. Base diam 3.75".
