Kenrick Cast Iron Door Knocker DK438

Original, quality late 19th century cast iron door knocker of the dropped loop form. This well detailed example has a "Burmese" temple design to the upper section, and acanthus leaves to the lower. Both pieces are impressed with the model number "419", and the reverse of the knocker loop has "A.K. & Sons" for the manufacturer A. Kenrick & Sons of West Browich and the registration mark for the years 1842 to 1867. All has been cleaned and repainted black and complete, and is in good and working order.
