Glass Newel Post Finial NP4

Original, quality late 19th century spherical shaped glass Newal Post Finial, probably continental. This super example has circular facets and a star design to the top all cut through the cranberry glass overlay to show clear glass. The brass foot is the original, although the base mounting plate with four holes for fixing is a replacement made to suit. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. There are a few minor chips to the glass and considerable scratching, otherwise all is complete and in good order. An unusual item to find today.
