Cast Iron Smoothing Iron Stand IS47

Original, quality late 19th century cast iron, laundry iron stand, with a smoothing iron shape to the body, three feet and an embossed design to the upper surface of convolvulus bindweed leaves and flowers, all in the Aesthetic Movement style. This good iron trivet is said to be designed by Dr Christopher Dresser. The reverse is impressed with the registration for the year 1884 and "No 9" for the size. Cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good order.
