Burnished Steel and Brass Fireside Shovel F349

Original, quality, mid to late 19th century, blacksmith made burnished steel fireside shovel, with a pierced shovel, an oval and faceted shaft and a superb reeded and shaped cast brass handgrip. The shovel has a good repair to the rivetted area and the piercing was to sift through the embers and put back onto the fire all but the ash. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good and working order. A well above average fireside tool and a grate looker.
