Blue and White Dairy Maids Cheese Dish and Cover CD27

Original, quality late 19th century superb wedge shaped cheese dish with a highly decorated cover with a handle to the top. The cover is transfer printed to the inside with the registration number for the year 1899 and the exterior is detailed to each side with a different scene in Blue transfer print. The top shows dairy maids milking a cow in the pasture; one side has a maid working the cheese press and the other side dairy maids pouring milk into the setting pan. The front and back both have floral designs. No cracks or chips but some stains to the floor of the tray dish, otherwise in superb condition. A most unusual cheese dish. In good usable condition.
