Original, quality late 19th century cast iron Mrs Potts type cast iron smoothing iron with a lift off wooden handle. This unusual example is embossed to the elliptical shaped body for the manufacturer "Bless & Drake, Newark N.J" USA. The 'D' shaped wooden handle has a severe burn to one side but all is complete and in good order otherwise and has been cleaned and lacquered.
Body 6.5" x 3.5" x 2.25" tall. Total height 5.5".
