Antler Handled Butchers Steel BS46

Original, quality late 19th century butchers shop sharpening steel with a stag horn antler handgrip, a brass safety guard and a brass swivel hanging ring. The smooth steel is impressed for the maker "John Petty & Sons Sheffield" and "Registered Magnetic Steel". The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good and working order.
