Australian Aircraft Ashtray A37
Original, quality, cast brass ashtray in the form of 'Australia' engraved with the states and many towns. This ashtray is fitted with two cigarette rests to the front and a twin engined aircraft on a stand over the top. The plane is engraved "South Pacific, Sydney Australia 1946". All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and apart from the propeller blades missing all is complete and in good order. Base map 6.5" x 5" + 1", total 4.5" tall x 6.5" x 6" front to back.

Opening Ceremony Scissors CC136
Pair of original, quality, silver handled scissors used for an opening ceremony in Kingston-Upon- Hull in 1935, in the original shaped and fitted box. The case has a hinged lid, cream silk lining to the lid, black velvet to the base, gold tooled leather cloth to the outer and a gilded commemoration plaque to the top of the hinged lid. The plaque is engraved "Presented to Ald. A. Stark, J.P. and Lord Mayor of Kingston-Upon-Hull on the occasion of the opening by him of Hull's Super Service Station for Automobile Purchases (Hull) Ltd, 10th July 1935". The silver handled scissors are hallmarked for "Birmingham 1934" and engraved with the initials "A" and "S". All is in super condition, the scissors having little use only and the box is in near mint as you can get. What a most unusual opening ceremony. Box 9.25" x 4.25" and 0.75" front to back, scissors 7.5" x 2.25".

Original, quality 1920's, silver plated Guernsey milk jug, with a straw covered handle, a lift off lid, a pouring lip and engraved detail to the front. The underside is impressed "EPNS" and "2 1/2 pint". The engraved detail reads "Mr and Mrs Julius Harrison from The Executive and Vocal Committee Jersey, Eisteddfod 1929". This jug is in super condition overall, with just a little wear to the silver plate around the engraved inscription. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order. 8.5" tall x 7.5" front to back and 6" wide.

Original, quality, Doulton saltglazed, two tone tankard with a rear loop handle and white applied decorative scenes of seated gents in tricorn hats drinking or smoking and a horse and rider with hounds chasing a stag. This example is mounted with a hallmarked silver rim to the top edge, engraved "Hulton Beagles Puppy Show 1st Prize 1901". The underside is impressed "Doulton Lambeth England" and "8211". All is in mint condition, bright, clear and complete. 5.25" tall, 3.5" + 5" wide including handle.

Original, quality nickel plated trophy cup with embossed decoration, side handles and mounted on an ebonised turned wooden plinth. But most of all engraved to the front "Presented to Pte A Metcalfe K.O.R.N.L on his return from active service in the war of 1914 - 18, from the people of Mallerstang". Complete and in good order. 7" tall x 6.25" widest, front to back 3.5" and base 4" diam.

J.H Swiggs in 1919, in celebration of peace of the Frist World was this vey clenr print in the original frame has a coat of art to the top over a coloured picture, entitled "The Guarded Health by Dudley Lennent. Original, quality, pressed copper "Toogood Best in The Show" shield in the original unpolished patinated finish, with the year presentation shield above at the top of the chains dated 1908 and bearing the Royal Coat of Arms. The main shield of a thick guage copper is deeply embossed with fine detail, the Kings Crown to the top above the Royal Coat of Arms, a central cameo of various Poultry surrounded by a larrel wreath, with an array of flowers and fruit above to the left and vegetables to the right. The text is all in banner swags "The Toogood Shield For The Best in The Show", "Toogood and Sons, The Kings Seedsmen", "For The Best in The Show, Won By... and at... " and "Presented By Toogood and Sons Southampton". This shield has never been engraved and is in mint condition in all aspects, with just a little discolouration to the reverse. The first we have seen of this size awarded by "Toogood and Sons". Main shield 12.25" x 10", total length complete 13.75".

Nickel Mounted Oak Lemonade Jug J122
Original, quality late 19th century white ceramic lined oak "Lemonade Jug" with nickel bands, lid, handles and mounts. This superb example, the best we have seen has a hinged top lid with a finial, a handle to the front and back, a shaped pouring spout and a shield shaped plaque for engraving. All is in superb order with the original finish to the honey coloured oak and only minor rubbing to the nickel mounts and no chips stains or cracks to the ceramic liner. 9.5" tall, base 7.5" diam and 10.25" front to back including handles.

Original, quality, late 19th century, tapered cowhorn beaker with a glass bottom and mounted to the front with a shield shaped silver or silver plated plaque detailed "B.R.N.A.V.", "Cutter's Race, Gunner, R Murray 1877" This was a trophy / prize awarded in 1877. Although the top is a little oval in shape all is complete and in super condition. 5" tall, 3.5" top diameter, 2.25" base diameter.

Original, quality, rectangular shaped Sheffield plated on copper biscuit box with a hinged lid and a ropetwist bead around the top and bottom edges. The cushioned shaped lid is engraved "Aronian Boy, Winner of Dillington Heap Steeplechase, Taunton 1940, Ridden by T Hanbury". Some rubbing to the plate showing the copper bleeding through mainly around the engraving. Complete and in good order. 7" x 4.5" + 3.5" tall.

Original, quality, late 19th century, silver plated presentation trowel with an ivory handle. The trowel is profusely engraved with decoration and is inscribed "Presented To William Wright Esq, Drummoyne On The Occasion Of His Laying The Foundation Stone Of The Gladesville Presbyterian Church 20th Oct 1888". The irovy handle has an old grain split, but otherwise all is complete and in good order. 12" x 3.5" + 1.5".

Brass Oil Lamp OL74
Original, quality, late 19th century, superb brass urn shaped oil side lamp, with a lift out font and styalised serpent side handles, all mounted on a block brass pedestal. Three sides of the pedestal are embossed and engraved with designs of grapes, vines and leaves and the other is detailed "Presented to John Hanna Esq J.P. by the Ashton Under Lyne Caledonian Association, July 21st 1896. Burns Centenary". The main body is profusely embossed and engraved with designs of grapes, vines and leaves as on the pedestal, and the lift out font has a reeded design to match that on the foot of the urn. The twin 1" wick oil burner is a top of the range 'Hinks' burner in brass, with a white ceramic button to the wick control and marked "Hinks Duplex No 2" and has a gallery lifting device to enable the lamp to be lit without removing the shade or chimney. This burner has the side lug attachments to lock onto the top collar and is stamped "Hinks and Sons Patent". The glass chimney is included in the price but the shade is not and is no longer available. All is polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed if required at no extra cost. A very unusual oil lamp with an interesting dedication. Complete and in good and working order. Plinth 5.25" x 5.25" base, 10.5" widest + 7.5" front to back excluding shade, 28" tall with chimney + 19" without.

Polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good order. 4.5" tall x 3.5" wide and when standing 2" front to back.

Original, quality, quart sized pewter two handled rowing trophy engraved "Clare College Junior Trial Eights 1906" with the coat of arms over "Care Adsum" to one side and the list of team members to the other "F.Ferraboschi, V.G. Shaw, C de M Schumitz, F.W.C. Douglas, S.C. Asklin, G. Aydon. E.T. Cutler, H.J. Newton Clare, C.H. Fisher and R.C. Martin the coach". The underside has a clear glass bottom and is stamped for the maker "Munsey Cambridge". All is complete and in good order and with a good warm pewter colour. 6.5" tall x 8.75 " wide including handles and 4.75" base diameter.

Original, quality lignum vitae bowling wood with two silver inserts, one with "1" and the other engraved "Wilts County Singles Championship 1939, Presented By RCBC". The wood is also impressed for the maker "Jaques and Son, London", '5' and 'Bias No3' and with a decorated carved frieze to both ends. A super example with provenance. Lignum vitae is one of the few woods that will not float. 4.75" diameter.
