Pair of Leather Flying Helmets A5
Original, quality pair of pre war leather flying helmets complete with ear phones and flexible hoses. The leatherwork is in super condition and in a grey/brown colour. The interior is lined in a chamois leather, and both have embroidered labels to the inside detailing "Sherwin's of racing, flying and motor clothing fame, no connection with any other firm, 27 Carburton St London W. I Tel Museum 4793." One also has a label for the size "7 ¼ ". Each chromed circular earphone is impressed "D.H Type Earphone." DH= De Haviland Aircraft. All is complete and in good order with no tears, holes or missing buckles, etc. The hat block is not included in the price but is available Ref Code: HB1. Tubes and Earphones 26" long. Earphones diam 2.75". Hatblock in picture 11" tall.

ARP Brass Handbell B197
Original, quality Second World War cast brass handbell with the original turned beech handle and cast iron internal clapper on a chain. The bell is stamped to the outer rim "G and J 1939" and "ARP" for Air Raid Personel. These bells were manufactured during the second world war and used for Air Raid warnings and are good and loud. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 9.5" tall and 5" bell mouth.

The underside is printed for the manufacturer "George Jones and Sons Crescent". Perfect and complete. 3.25" tall x 3.25" and 4.25" wide including handle.

Six original, quality 1920's, matching, unused, silver plated teaspoons each bearing a different head and details of various British officers of the 1st World War and previous. 1. Lord Fisher and a Cameo of a British bulldog above 'The Navy' in upper case. 2. King George V and a cameo of Britannia, above 'The Empire'. 3. Admiral Beatty and a cameo of a warship, above 'The Navy'. 4. Earl Roberts and a cameo of an Indian Army Soldier, above 'India'. 5. Earl Kitchener and a cameo of a British Soldier, above 'The Army'. 6. Duke of Connaught and a cameo of a soldier, above 'Canada'. The reverse of the spoons are all marked 'Patent applied for, Birks EPNS' and have garlands of roses, shamrocks and thistles for England, Ireland and Scotland. All have been polished and lacquered. Cast Iron Civil War Memorial Door Porter DP39
Original, quality, superbly detailed, cast iron door porter, we think issued to commemorate the end of the US Civil War; for the registration lozenge mark to the reverse is for the year 1865, and the Civil War was 1854 to 1865. The detail includes a sabre, a musket with bayonet, cannons and balls, flags and pennant lances and various other items, all mounted on a plinth with a wreath of laurel leaves to the top, in the form of a memorial. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1865, 'No 183575' and '670'. Several very minor repairs have been made, all has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in superb order. 17.5" high, 9.5" wide at base and 5" front to back at base.

Original, quality small copper funnel, with a vented spout with and a hanging ring to the top. This example is stamped " D and W ", " 43 " for 1943 and with the War Department. broad arrow mark. Issued during the Second World War 1936 to 1945. Not tinned inside, so not used with food stuffs. Original, quality, late 19th century, circular shaped military hat tin in the original bronzed and patterned paintwork andwith a wire carry handle to the hinged lid. The interior has most of its original bronzed finish. The front of the tin has a hasp fitting to take a padlock and the lid has a shield shaped brass nameplate for the supplier "Hawkes and Co Ltd 1 Savile Row London W". The lid has an owner's detail painted in white letters detailing "L.F Close K.S.L.I". Generally complete and in good shape, but with a few dents and rubbing to the paintwork. 11.75" diameter x 7" tall.

Original, quality 1920's brass water jug of a super shape and fashioned using a First World War brass shell case base for the base of the jug. I am not sure that the rest of the jug is 'trench art' but who knows,? All is complete and in good and working order with a hinged cover, a handle to the rear and a good pouring lip. The shell case underside is impressed 1918 June; and other numbers. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. 8" tall, 5.5" diam and widest including spout and handle 7.5".

Original, quality 1920's, white ceramic pint sized jug, with an embossed pattern and transfer printed in colour to the front with the bust of "Field Marshall Earl Kitchener CCB, GCMG, OM" detailed as such and showing all his medals to date. One tiny knock to the rim at the back, otherwise complete and in good order. Not great quality, but the first we have seen. 6.5" tall, 3.75" base diameter and 5.25" wide at top including pouring lip and handle.

Baden Powell Copper Kettle K122
Original, quality superb copper kettle, with lid, circa 1900 / 1920. The underside is impressed with the logo for the manufacturer W. Souter and Sons of Birmingham and all is in super condition. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. But most of all look at the engraving to the shoulders and the finial to the lid, one side has two union flags, "October 17 1899" and "May 18 1900" and "B.P" for General Baden Powell. The other side is engraved "Mafeking". Baden Powell was successful in relieving the troops held down in "Mafeking", during the campaign wars in South Africa. Baden Powell was later renowned for setting up the Boy Scout Movement. This kettle is the first we have seen and initially I was not sure if the finial to the lid was a later addition but I believe it now to be original. 12" tall x 8" wide and 11.5" front to back including spout.

1st World War Death Plaque in Frame M77
Original, quality, bronze medallion as issued to the next of kin of all members of the British Troops killed in action during the 1st World War 1914 to 1918, often referred to as a 'Death Penny'. This example was awarded posthumously to Christopher Rowland and is embossed around the outer edges "He died for freedom and honour" and is mounted in a bronze finished frame in the shape of the Maltese Cross which has an embossed laurel wreath with a ribbon depicting the years of the war. The reverse is detailed for the maker of the frame "Wright and Son, Edgware, Middx England" and with the registration number for the year 1921. The original document issued with the plaque for Private Christopher Rowland, Northumberland, Fusiliers is included as is the document tube. All is complete and in good order. Frame 8" x 8", postage tube 8" x 12".

Original, quality pressed brass tin with embossed hinged lid bearing a cameo of Princess Mary, two 'M' monograms and panels around it with the names of countries allied to Great Britain in the 1st World War; Belgium, Japan, Russia, Monte Negro, Serria and France. Complete and in good order. These brass tins, containing a variety of items dependant on the recipient, were given to all British troops serving overseas for Christmas 1914. The funds for these were raised by Princess Mary, daughter of King George V. Most but not all of the tins were issued with a pack of cigarettes, a pack of tobacco, a Christmas card in an envelope, a printed photo. of Princess Mary and a silver tipped brass shell case with a pencil inside. All items were marked with the monogram 'M' with a crown over. Polished and lacquered. This tin is without contents. 3.5" x 5" x 1.25". Price is for each.

Original, quality 1st World War duty armband for a Special Constable. The curved cast aluminium badge is embossed "113 Special Constable" and is looped through with the horizontal blue striped on white canvas armband. This was worn on the lower sleeve when on war duty. Some minor moth damage to the band and most of the original black paint missing from the badge. Otherwise, all is complete and in good order. Badge 3.5" x 2.75", band including buckle 18" x 1.75".

The upper half depicts rose flowers and leaves, with top edge petal shapes and the lower half is ribbed and waisted and punch engraved "Campagne de Syria", "1925 - 1926" to one and "1926 - 1927" to the other. The undersides are rather dented and although there are many numbers stamped they are difficult to decipher. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost.
