The principle of this kettle is for the leaves to be placed above the perforated divider when the teapot is stood on its feet with the lid in place, and when the brew is the desired strength the teapot is to be stood as normal and hence the leaves would be held out of the liquid so the tea would not over strengthen (stew). Both the knob to the lid and the shaped handle are made of a composition and the plating is generally very bright and clean and only showing the slightest wear to the underside. 'S.Y.P = Simple Yet Perfect'. A most unusual patent teapot, in superb condition. 9" tall on feet x 5.5" wide and 8" front to back.
