Original, quality, late 19th century, copper coal helmet with a fitted copper scoop with a turned fruitwood grip, a swing over handle and a cast brass handle to the rear. The shaped copper scoop fits beneath the top on a strap fitting and all sits on a circular base plinth. Matching pair of original, quality, brass coal vases complete with the original steel lift out liners. This superb pair of coal tubs have vase shaped bodies on three legs, two side ring handles, a cluster finial to the domed lid, a registration number to the underside of the lid for the year 1902 and the maker's mark to the underside of the vase for "Henry Loveridge and Co of Birmingham". The steel liners are a work of art on their own, by far the best we have seen and each with a pair of side ring lifting handles. These vases are in superb condition with only very very minor dents if any, consistent with very little use. The brass has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and the liners cleaned and repainted black. All is complete and in good and working order. Each 18" tall x 16" widest including side handle. Price is for the pair.

Original, quality 1920's, copper coal bin with the original, blacksmith made wrought iron basket with a swing over handle and an old replacement copper and steel shovel with a turned wooden grip. The copper bin has an Art and Crafts feel with the scalloped and folded over corners and the style of the decorative wrought iron work. The ironwork has been cleaned and repainted matt black and the copper has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. A most unusual coal bin complete and in good order. 15.5" tall with handle up plus shovel, 16" + 11" handle down, 13.5" wide + 18" front to back.

This superbly designed and made pair of tongs is so precise the end grips are exactly in the correct position for gripping when fully extended. These were used in the hearth to stop the fire irons, tongs and poker, etc. sliding to the floor, but are also ideal as a doorstop. This example is most unusual in design and is impressed to the underside of the cast iron weight with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son of Birmingham'. The ironwork has been cleaned and repainted black and the front of the copper panel polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. The reverse has the original sheet of lead protecting the mirror from the heat which has some sheet lead patches, and the glass has blemishes to the centre and lower section but no chips or cracks, otherwise all is in super condition. The front of the mirror is decorated with hand painted roses, which could be removed on request and the reverse is covered in the original sheet of thin lead giving protection to the mirror from the heat.
