Set of 3 Glazed Doulton Stoneware Barrels B3
Three matching original, quality, mid to late 19th century, two tone saltglazed stoneware sherry/spirit barrels, with applied Coats of Arms to the front. Each barrel has six simulated bands, a hole to the bottom front for a tap and a hole for filling to the top. Impressed "2" to the top surface and "Doulton and Watts, Lambeth Pottery, London" for the manufacturer. All these barrels are identical, with only a variation in the colour of the glaze. Two are perfect and the other has a little crazing to the front and to the applied Coat of Arms, although nothing is missing. A great set of barrels, sold together. Each barrel is 12.5" tall, 10" widest, 8" base diameter and 8.5" top diameter. Price is for the set of three.

Original, quality, white ceramic beaker with transfer details in sepia issued to commemorate the coronation of King George V in 1911. This example has the Coat of Arms of Marlborough in Wiltshire and "Thomas Free Mayor". The underside is printed with the logo for Royal Doulton and all is complete and in good order. 4" tall x top diameter 3.5".

Original, quality, Doulton saltglazed, two tone tankard with a rear loop handle and white applied decorative scenes of seated gents in tricorn hats drinking or smoking and a horse and rider with seven hounds chasing of a stag. This example is mounted with a hallmarked silver rim to the top edge, engraved "Coronation Day Esher 1902". The underside is impressed "Doulton Lambeth England" and "9969". All is in superb condition, bright and clear, but there is one small chip to the lower corner of the strap handle, otherwise complete and in good order. 5.25" tall, 3.5" and 5" wide including handle.

Original, quality, late 19th century, buff coloured and glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a variety of brown and pale green glazed sections. The front is decorated in tube lined detail "William Ewart Gladstone, Effort, Honest, Manful, Humble", "Effort Suceeds By Its Reflective Action Upon Character, Better Than Success". The front also has a cameo of Gladstone in relief. A super jug issued by Doulton in 1881 to 1914. One miniscule chip to the pouring lip and some minor blemishes on the tube line decorations, otherwise complete and in superb order. 9" tall, 6.5" wide and 7.5" front to back including handle.

Original, quality, Royal Doulton porcelain mug, with a side handle and decoration commemorating the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902. One side has The King and Queen Alexandra in colour beneath the crown, another side has a sepia print of a lion holding a shield detailing the coronation with "Coronation Postponed Until The 9th of August" and the third panel details the coat of arms for 'Stowmarket'. The underside has the lion on a crown logo for 'Royal Doulton'. All is in super condition with no chips or cracks. 3" tall x 3" diameter and 4" wide including handle.

Original, quality, cream coloured ceramic beaker marked to the underside in green for the manufacturer "Royal Doulton" and with the registration number for the year 1902. The front has a cameo in green of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra above a ribbon swag detailing "June 1902" and the reverse has "Presented by His Majesty", "The King's Coronation Dinner" and the monogram "ER VII", Perfect. 3.75" tall, 3.5" top diameter and 2.5" base.

The top glazed band is in chocolate brown over the pale brown main body and the detailing in sepia is a cameo of King Edward and Queen Alexandra, surrounded with Tudor roses, thistle heads and shamrocks, with a ribbon swag beneath "Crowned 26th June 1902". The underside of the beaker has the impressed 'lion on a crown' logo, "Royal Doulton England" and "5201". Perfect. 5" tall, top diameter 3.25" x base 2.25". Another identical may well be available, with just a different number impressed to the underside.

Original, quality, buff coloured, glazed stoneware jug, with a rear loop handle, a pouring lip and a coffee brown glazed top and base and a reeded trim. The front is transfer printed in upper cased Art Nouveau type style, around a cameo of Gladstone and the text details: 'England's Great Commoner, William Ewart Gladstone' and 'Effort, Honest Reflective Action, Manful, Humble upon Character, Effort - Suceeds better than by it's Sucess'. Impressed to the underside 'Doulton Lambeth England' and '4200'. A superb commemorative jug, issued in 1898 by Doulton on the death of Gladstone. In perfect condition. 7.5" tall, 4.5" wide and 6.5" front to back including handle.

This example has transfer decoration to the main body detailing "Doultons Improved Foot Warmer, Lambeth Pottery, London". The stopper is incised "Doulton and Co, Lambeth". Complete and in good and working order. 10.5" x 4.5" x 6" tall.

Original, quality, pre-war, Doulton two tone brown glazed water jug, with a side strap handle, a pouring lip and transfer printing to both sides "Whitbread's Ale and Stout". The underside is impressed "Royal Doulton England" and "2533". A firing blemish to the pouring lip, but otherwise all is complete and in good order. A good advertising water jug for the bar. 4.25" tall, base 3.5" diameter and 5.5" wide including handle.

Set of 5 Doulton Harvest Jugs J35
Set of five original quality two tone, glazed harvest jugs in graduated sizes, manufactured by Doulton & Co Lambeth and all impressed to the front 'Mr and Mrs Dunn June 11th 1905'. Each jug is two tone with dark glaze to the upper half and buff coloured to the lower and all are decorated with applied reliefs of gents drinking and smoking and of a horse with a rider and hounds chasing a stag. All are complete and the largest and smallest are perfect but the other three do have some damage which does not detract from their appearance. The largest of the three with some damage has a star crack to the front, hardly visible. The second has a chip and short hairline to the top rim and a horizontal hairline to the front and the third has chips to the rim only. All the decoration and the glaze otherwise is perfect, sharp and bright. The underside is impressed with an oval mark detailing 'Doulton & Co Lambeth'. A super set of jugs, great lookers and really in lovely condition considering. Tall 7.25", 6.5", 5.75", 5.25" and 3". Price is for the set.

Doulton 4 Piece Watchman Series Jug and Basin Set JB45
Original, quality, 'Watchman Series' four piece, matching, original Royal Doulton ewer and basin, chamberpot and soap dish, with lid. The undersides are all marked with the printed detail of the Royal Doulton logo with the lion on the crown and with the registration number for the year 1902. The bowl, chamberpot, soap dish and lid are all perfect, but the jug has a large crack which has been repaired with six old brass rivets, a super old repair. This set has a buff coloured background colour with sepia detail and the occasional infill of pale blue. The bowl is decorated inside with a continuous picture of timber framed houses with cobbled street and the outside has ribbon swags detailing "Watchman What Of The Night" three times. The jug, of a serious Art Nouveau shape, has timber framed building and a large picture of the Watchman with his lantern over his shoulder. The chamberpot again has timber framed buildings around the outside, the soap dish has similar to the lid with hanging lantern and calling rattles to the outside of the base, although the drainer from the soap dish is missing. Apart from the repair to the jug, all is complete, in superb order and very desirable. Jug 10.5" x 9" wide + 10" front to back, bowl 15" diameter x 4.75" tall, soap dish 5" x 3.5" tall, chamberpot 9" x 5.75" tall and 10.5" including handle.

Original, quality late 19th century Doulton of Lambeth "Silicon Ware" tobacco jar, in the very realistic form of a 14lb cast iron weight. This superb example, the first we have owned has a hall marked silver mount and ring to the lid and the original square inner tobacco 'pressing block'. The underside of the base is impressed "Doulton Silicon Lambeth", "K", "KS" and "2777", the number '277' is also impressed on the inner pressing block. All is complete and in good order and is as realistic as it looks. 5.5" tall x 3.75" square base.
