Original, quality late 19th century cast brass door porter with a cast iron weight to the reverse. This shaped example has a half section bulbous body on a plinth with a ring handle to the top. The cast iron weight inset to the reverse is impressed "T5757" for the model and impressed with the sun logo and "WT&S" for the manufacturer 'William Tonks & Son, of Birmingham'. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. 11.5" tall and base 4.5" wide x 2.25" front to back.

Oirginal, quality, late 19th century larger than average cast iron door porter or Mantle Ornament. This detailed heavy door stop in deep rellief, depicts the Prince in full Kilt dress, a hat with a cockade and a staff on his arm. Consistantly pitted overall, but in good order otherwise and heavier than normal. 13" tall 12.5" widest base and 3" front to back at base.

Original, quality, 19th century, decorative cast iron door porter with a design of acanthus leaves and flowers over a clam shell. The reverse is embossed "Kenrick" for the manufacturer from West Bromwich and listed as model number 456 in their 1876 catalogue. The first we have seen of this model, also with an unusual two piece construction. All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good order. 12" tall x 6" + 4" front to back.

Original, quality, late 19th century, very decorative cast brass door porter, with designs in deep relief of acanthus leaves with a loop grip to the top and a cast iron counterbalance weight behind. The reverse has the registration lozenge mark for the year 1862 and "WT&S" for the manufacturer William Tonks and Sons of Birmingham. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost. Complete and in good and working order. A serious door porter. 13.25" tall x 6" wide + 2" front to back at base.

Pair of original, quality, late 19th century, cast brass door porters / door stops, with cast iron weighted bases. These examples, the first we have seen, have very detailed embossed designs of acanthus leaves to the face of the base and continued up the shaped stem and ring handle grip. The cast iron weight to the reverse is impressed "JCS" for the maker James Cantland and Sons and is fitted to the brass body with two slotted bolts. All has been cleaned / polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good order. 12.25" tall, 6.75" wide at base + 2.75" front to back. This example has a detailed figure of cupid to the top, part standing on a stack of books and with a bow to one side. The halo above its head serves as a loop hand grip. Original, quality, superbly detailed, cast iron door porter, we think issued to commemorate the end of the US Civil War; for the registration lozenge mark to the reverse is for the year 1865, and the Civil War was 1854 to 1865. The detail includes a sabre, a musket with bayonet, cannons and balls, flags and pennant lances and various other items, all mounted on a plinth with a wreath of laurel leaves to the top, in the form of a memorial. The reverse is impressed with the registration lozenge mark for the year 1865, 'No 183575' and '670'. Several very minor repairs have been made, all has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in superb order. 17.5" high, 9.5" wide at base and 5" front to back at base.
