Original, quality 1960's United Dairies one pint glass milk bottle painted to the inside with cream and white to form a shop window 'dummy' pint of milk. The original foil cap is still fitted although it does have a slit cut and the bottle is embossed "United Dairies" to the reverse and acid etched in red with the same on the front. Complete and in good order otherwise. 8.5" tall x 3" base diam.

Original, quality late 19th century/circa 1900, larger than average butter print with the carved detail of a thistle flower head with a leaf either side. This superb example has a large bowl with a turned stem riding within. A good repair has been made to an old split and now all is complete and in good and working order. Total 5.5" diam and 6" tall down. 9" withdrawn in and print 4.5" diam.

Jasper Dip Cheese Dish and Cover CD21
Original, quality late 19th century blue and white jasper dip ceramic circular cheese dish and cover. This superb example has white applied oak leaf and acorn decoration around the rim of the base and the base of the cover. The cover also has a white applied detailed scene of horses, riders, and foxhounds at the kill of a fox, this scene is repeated. The top of the cover has an acorn shaped finial grip with a breathing hole through the centre. This super example has never seen a Stilton cheese before, is unused, and complete and in perfect condition. The underside of the base is impressed "B.P and Co" for the maker Brownhills Pottery and is not Wedgwood as you may think at first glance. Base 12" x 1.75. Top 8.25" x 9" diam. Total 9.5" tall.

Shell Shaped Cheese Dish and Cover CD17
Original, quality, late 19th century, large cheese dish with cover of an unusual shape. This cream coloured ceramic dish is in the form of a styalised shell with an open gilded grip to the top. The decoration is of pastel coloured flowers with bolder dark green and gold swags and nose panel. The base is similar to match and all is in a good condition with no cracks or chips, but the base plate is heavly stained. The underside is printed with the manufactuer's logo for "W.A.A & Co" and both pieces are impressed with the registration number for the year 1897. Base 11" x 8.25", total 8" tall.

Original, quality 1920's, large wedge shaped, cream coloured ceramic cheese dish and cover. The base is plain with a decorated border in relief and gold lining. The three sided cover has repeated scenes of herons feeding in a lake with trees and foliage in the foreground, all in colour. The handle to the cover is in the form of looped foliage stems. Some very minor crazing, but no chips, cracks or fat stains and complete and in good order. Base 10.25" x 11", total 8" tall.

The base is plain and the cover has a two colour decoration of flowers, leaves and motives to each of the three panels. The triangular shaped plate has some minor fat stains, but no cracks or chips and the cover is as clean as a whistle with the artist's reference to the inside "2119 / 88" and hand painted coloured decoration of flowers and leaves to the outside. Complete and in good order. Base 11.5" x 12", total 8.5" tall.

Original, quality mid to late 19th century circular freeblown clear glass, cream setting pan as used in the dairy. This most unusual pan has a hollow blown rim, a pouring lip and a serious pontil to the underside. Lots of wear to the underside foot and scratches to the interior floor but no chips or cracks and complete and in good order. This is only the second example we have seen. 19.5" diam and 4" tall.

Original, quality late 19th century superb off white coloured ceramic, dairy shop display stand, with a large circular top with a rim on a shaped and fixed plinth. The underside is impressed for the manufacturer "Wedgwood" and the top is transfer decorated with the scales of justice logo and "Parnall and Sons weighing machine, grocers mill and canister manufacturer, 21 and 22 Narrow Wine St, Bristol". Some minor scuffs and stains to the glazing, otherwise complete and in good order. The first of this model we have seen. 16" top diam x 4" tall and 12" base diam.

Impressed to the underside for the maker of the pot "Port Dundas Pottery Glasgow". Complete and in good order. 5.5" tall and 3.25" widest.

Original, quality huge late 19th century oval shaped steel dairy can, as used on milk delivery prams and floats when delivering door to door straight from the churn. This example has a steel swing handle, with a wooden grip and large brass mounts to the top and hinge. The central brass plaque to the lid details the dairy supplying the milk "J Bunchevsky 65 Byron St Leeds" and the other plaque for the maker of the can "J Stanhope 16 Rutland Terrace, Burley Rd Leeds". All has been cleaned and lacquered and is complete and in good order. This is probably the cleanest dairy can we have had to date, the internal tinning needs to be seen to be believed. 14" tall x 14" x 9.5" with handle down.

This example has a steel lid mounted will a turned steel paddle and cast aluminium mechnism with the original red painted cover to the gearing, all on a square glass jar, the jar is embossed "Blow Butter Churn" made in England and two quarts for the size. The red painted area is rubbed but otherwise all in good order. The metal work has been cleaned and lacquered. Complete and in good and working order 12" tall and 8.5" widest including handle jar 5" square at base.

Original, quality 1920's, silver plated Guernsey milk jug, with a straw covered handle, a lift off lid, a pouring lip and engraved detail to the front. The underside is impressed "EPNS" and "2 1/2 pint". The engraved detail reads "Mr and Mrs Julius Harrison from The Executive and Vocal Committee Jersey, Eisteddfod 1929". This jug is in super condition overall, with just a little wear to the silver plate around the engraved inscription. Has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and all is complete and in good order. 8.5" tall x 7.5" front to back and 6" wide.

Original, quality, milkmaid's dairy yoke, circa 1900, complete with the original hooks and chains. This yoke, in beech, has a few worm holes, but has been well treated and the chains cleaned and lacquered. Part way down the chains are the adjustment hooks to ensure the length is correct for carrying the milk buckets, for ideally, the dairy maid would be holding the milk pails at a level for the yoke to take a share of the weight. A super clean yoke and chain, complete and in good and working order. Yoke 36" x 7" x 2.5" and hooks and chains 35" x 2".

All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and complete and in good and working order. 2.25" tall with handle down. 2.5" wide and 1.75" front to back.

Original, quality, late 19th century, larger than average, white ceramic slab from a grocers' or butchers' shop counter scales. This very clean example is transfer printed to the topside with a 'Scale of Justice' design and a logo for the scale manufacturer 'G.Rushbrook, London and Birmingham'. The rear of the upstand is impressed for the manufacturer "Wedgwood" and "ACH". Some very minor stains and a couple of minor scatches to the edge, otherwise complete and in good order. A great looking slab ideal for a cheese board. 14.5" wide x 13.5" front to back, 2" tall at the rear and slab 0.5" thick.

The wrought iron handle is fitted to the brass skimmer with three copper rivets, a good repair has been made to the ironwork behind the brass pan and all is now complete and in good order.
