The jar is transfer printed to all sides "Oxo" Cubes and the lid has 'oxo' in red upper cased letters impressed and the underside with instructions for use. The underside of the jar is embossed British made. Complete and in good order. Height 7.5" x base 5.75" diam. Lid 4.5" diam and aperture 3.5". Price is for each.

Frys Advertising Mirror A95
Original, quality circa 1900 / 1920's shop display advertising mirror, in the original mahogany frame and with the original ply backing board. The front is detailed for "Fry's Chocolate" around a Royal Coat of Arms and by appointment underneath. Also etched to the lower edge "This is the property of J.S Fry & Sons Ltd, Bristol & London". The plywood backing board has signs of worm but has been well treated and can be removed if you wish. It also has the original printed detail for the manufacturer / supplier of the mirror "OC Hankes Ltd Birmingham" and the original paper label of J.S Fry & Sons Ltd. Some minor blemishes to the mirror glass and some minor scratches to the edges of the glass, otherwise a good clean mirror and complete and in good order. 28.25" x 14.25" x 1.25" front to back.

This colourful picture has a young lady wearing a straw bonnet with her arms around a bundle of wheat stems. Also in a banner to the lower section "London Birkenhead Hill Barry Southampton Belfast". The three holes near the bottom probably held a calendar, all otherwise complete and in good order. 14" x 9".

Cammell Laird and Co Ltd Promotional Paper Weight A93
Original, quality 1920's advertising desk or counter paper weight in the form of a standing camel on a rectangular shaped block. This example appears to be in pewter or spelter, later painted in brown paint. Each side of the plinth is mounted with a brass plaque detailing in relief to, one side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Sheffield, Grimesthorpe & Penistone" and the other side "Cammell Laird & Co Ltd, Shipyard Birkenhead". All has been washed and lacquered and is complete and in good order with just some rubbing to the later brown paint. Cammell Laird were huge ship builders having many famous ships to their credit including HMS Ark Royal, The Mauritania, The Robert F.Stockton, HMS Birkhead, CSS Alabama and The Fullages to name but a few. 4" tall and base 3.75" x 1.75".

Original, quality 1920's white glass advert in the original oak frame promoting "Bass in Bottle". The etched detail to the glass panel is in red and black, the frame is impressed to the top and bottom 'Bass and Co Ltd' although rather faint and the reverse has the remains of an old label still affixed. The reverse also has the original easel type wire stand, for this sign was originally designed to stand on a shelf on the bar backdrop. The wooden backing board is a replacement, but all otherwise is original and in good order. 10.5" x 8.25" x 0.75".

Original quality 1950's bolt and screw display as supplied to the larger ironmongers for an advertising display board. This very clean example has a deep pale wood frame and is detailed for the supplier and manufacturer "Guest Keen and Nettlefolds (Midlands) Ltd Screw Division", otherwise referred to as 'GKN'. The logo 'a castellated keep' for the company is also in the centre of the display surrounded by several hundred items set out in starburst patterns. A great piece of advertising not readily found today. All original and in good order. Exterior 34" x 28" and 3" front to back. Display visible 28.75" x 22.75".

Bretby Huntley and Palmers Plate A76
Original, quality late 19th century decorative ceramic plate mounted with four facsimile Huntley and Palmers biscuits. Three of these very lifelike biscuits are impressed for Huntley and Palmers just as the real ones were and the green glazed plate is finished as if a paper doiley was on the plate. The underside is impressed for the makers "Bretby England" and '1146' and with the registration number for the year 1897. There is an old repair to the edge as shown in two of the pictures here, a chip has been glued back in rather clumsily, otherwise all is complete and in good order with a super gloss finish back and front. 11.5" x 9" x 1.75".

This chair is in the original finish and has embossed detail to the backrail "Agent for the Holdfast brand boots and shoes", "EWP and Co trademark" and with a knotted rope logo. The seat panel is also embosssed with a pattern and the underside has retained the original paper label for the maker of the chair Thonet. A very hard to find advertising chair, complete and in super condition. 35" tall at back, 19" tall to top of seat, 16" wide + 17.5" front to back.

Original, quality 1920's, shield shaped advertising mirror in the original mahogany frame. The advertising is written and painted on the reverse of the glass and details in colour "Swedish Timber Co Ltd, East Ham London, Phone Grangewood 0912" and "Mail Order Specialists". The picture shows a steamer at the dockside, a house and a delivery truck loaded with timber. Some minor blemishes to the mirror glass, with some old touch ins to the coloured background, otherwise complete and in good order. The old cardboard backing board, which was well buckled has been replaced with a ply panel and the frame has retained a pair of old brass hanging eyes. 12.75" tall x 12.75" + 0.75" front to back.

The Reason Manufacturing Co Brass Figure A32
Original, quality, 1920's brass figure advertising "The Reason Manufacturing Co Ltd of Lewis Road, Brighton". The female figure dressed in a toga style of outfit is holding what could be an early 'Ediswan' type pointed electric light bulb and stands on a circular plinth, before a large circular disc, perhaps simulating to a large gong? This gong is detailed to the front for "The Reason Manufacturing Co Ltd of Lewis Road, Brighton " and to the reverse "Electrolytic Meters, Prepayment Meters and Midget Meters, Arc Lamps, Fireboxes, Demand Indicators, Time Switches and Street Lighting Fittings." The circular plinth is also detailed "Inventions exploited and perfected". An unusual item, the first we have seen and all in the old bronzed finish. Complete and in good order. Plinth 3.75", rear disc 3.25", height 5.25".

The lower half of this jug has a stippled texture and the handle to the rear has a super embossed bunch of grapes, with vine leaf detail. Original, quality multicoloured and detailed map produced in 1930 by "Pratts Petroleum Company" in the original narrow oak frame. This example is one of many different prints of maps painted by A.E Taylor and entitled " Pratts High Test plan of the Roads to Goodwood" with details of points of interest on the route from " London to Chichester". All is super condition with a repapered back incorporating the original Boots Picture Framing Dept paper label. Other maps in this set may well be available. Complete and in good order. 30.5" x 21" x 0.5" front to back.

Oxo Coronation Tin Money Box MB42
Original, quality red decorated and transfer printed Oxo tin issued to commemorate the coronation of King Edward VIII in 1937 that never took place. This tin when sold contained twelve oxo cubes and was designed to be used as a money box when empty of the cubes. The top shows King Edward on a coin and the reverse, Westminster Abbey. All is in superb condition clean and bright and complete and in good order. An unusual example issued by the Oxo Company. 4.25" x 2.25" x 3.25".

Original, quality late 19th century all copper hot water urn in the form of a castle tower with simulated brickwork and a castellated top. This hard to find urn has a brass shield to the front detailing 'Bovril', the beef extract drink, two brass taps with turned ebony handles, two small lids to the top and mounted with three replacement brass ball feet. copied from an original. This example is the largest we have seen and although not marked as such was made by "J and H Banfill Copper Smiths and Urn Makers, Gervase St. Old Kent Road S.E." London. These urns were used on the counter or bar in the pub, café or hotel, to heat up water and pour into a mug or cup of Bovril extract and were stood on a stove or over a gas ring beforehand to boil the water. All has been polished and lacquered, although the lacquer may be removed at no extra cost and is complete and in good and working order. 19"tall, 12" top diam, 13.5" base diam and 15.25" widest including taps.
